00:00Hello, it's Martin Dempster, the Scotsman Golf Correspondent here, coming to you from
00:06Newmarker Golf Club, just outside Aberdeen, at the conclusion of the Farm Food Scottish
00:14Challenge, supported by the R&A. It's the third year in a row that the Challenge Tour
00:21event has been held at this venue, and what a terrific performance this week from Englishman
00:28Brandon Robinson-Thompson. The 31-year-old, a charismatic character, was one shot off
00:36the lead at the halfway stage, having opened with two 67s. He then shot a brilliant third
00:42round 62, to move four shots clear of the field, and it really was a victory procession
00:49in the final round. He closed with a 66, for a 22 under par total, and an eight shot victory.
00:58This lifted him into the top ten in the Challenge Tour's Road to Mallorca rankings, as the players
01:06on the DP World Tour's feeder circuit battled to finish in the top 20 at the end of the
01:13season. Robinson-Thompson gnarly missed out last year, finishing 22nd, and on this evidence,
01:21he's going to be making that step up to the main tour next season. People's man Craig
01:27Howie finished as a leading Scot, after Callum Fyfe unfortunately dropped four shots in the
01:33last two holes. Also a disappointing back nine for Ryan Lumsden, as he finished just
01:40behind Fyfe. The man who has stolen the show here, undoubtedly Brandon Robinson-Thompson,
01:49a name to watch out for going forward, because he's certainly a character, and on the evidence
01:54of the last four days here, he can certainly play some good golf. To keep up to date with
01:59everything in the golf world, log on to Scotsman.com, or buy the Scotsman.
