00:00It's Warren Blanche from the Menning River Dragon Boat Club, the president for the last four years.
00:04We had to regatter on here this weekend for both days over Saturday and Sunday.
00:10Yesterday was a great day, the weather was just fantastic. We had community teams running on
00:17early in the morning and then we had Dash for Cash which was a winner from Port Macquarie,
00:22the team from Port. Then we had the 1k race from the bridge down to the clubhouse here
00:28near the sailing club and the local team won that, the local Menning River Dragon Boat Club.
00:36Couldn't have been a better race overall, we'd done exceptionally well and so did the other teams.
00:41We had nine in total in that race. Today we've got another beautiful day after a cool start.
00:49We've got our club regatta which covers teams from Newcastle through to
00:56Grafton which has been great effort from all the clubs to get here and
01:02enjoy the day. It's now turned out a beautiful weather which has been great. The race has been
01:07really good, close with plenty of action going on. Today we've got having a break now and we've got
01:14some more racing this afternoon which will be great to continue on with as the water is just
01:20perfect as you can probably see behind me now.
01:36Coming up in the next couple of weeks we have a come and try again which is
01:43bringing in new membership to see whether they like it and hopefully then we can join them up
01:49to continue with the great tradition of dragon boat racing. It's a good health thing, keeps you
01:57fit so if anyone out there's interested come on down to the clubhouse here next to the
02:02new rowing club on the Saturday morning from about 7.30, 8 o'clock so it would be great to
02:08see any new members come along.
