Black Voters Tell MSNBC They Support Trump BECAUSE He's Persecuted by the System, with Dan Bongino
Transcript
00:00Recently, Trump made a comment which didn't strike any of us
00:03who've been watching the race as particularly controversial.
00:06I mean, we all saw all the TikTok videos
00:09among black Americans after he had the mug shot
00:12and put it out on an actual mug
00:14and how so many black Americans were celebrating the moment
00:17and celebrating Trump's toughness
00:19and his big middle finger to the system
00:21and saying, I'm gonna fight, I'm gonna fight all of this.
00:23Okay, Trump makes a comment on it and they lost their mind.
00:28I'm gonna walk you through the sequence
00:30because it's absolutely beautiful.
00:31You're gonna love it.
00:32All right, so here's the Trump comment
00:34that it was just like a week or two ago
00:36that they reacted to.
00:38I got indicted for nothing, for something that is nothing.
00:43This is February.
00:44They were doing it because it's election interference.
00:46And then I got indicted a second time
00:47and a third time and a fourth time.
00:51And a lot of people said that that's why
00:53the black people like me
00:54because they have been hurt so badly
00:56and discriminated against.
00:58And they actually viewed me
00:59as I'm being discriminated against.
01:02It's been pretty amazing.
01:03The black people are so much on my side now
01:06because they see what's happening to me happens to them.
01:09Does that make sense?
01:12The mug shot, we've all seen the mug shot.
01:14And you know who embraced it more than anybody else?
01:18The black population.
01:19It's incredible.
01:20You see black people walking around with my mug shot.
01:22You know, they do shirts
01:23and they sell them for $19 a piece.
01:27It's pretty amazing.
01:29Okay, so that's February 23rd of this year.
01:33Here's a little sampling as to how the media reacted.
01:36I could have done 20 more shots,
01:37but here we've kept it short.
01:40I couldn't be more,
01:41and I'm gonna take the privilege
01:44of speaking for all the black people.
01:46I couldn't be more offended by that statement.
01:48Him saying black the way that he did,
01:50it just felt mocking in some sense.
01:53Let's be clear.
01:54Donald Trump is using the stereotype
01:57of blacks being criminals.
01:58He's in a mug shot for trying to interfere with an election.
02:03Blacks were arrested to get the right to vote.
02:06America, please, please share
02:10with your Trump loving friends.
02:12Have them understand why what we just heard
02:17is so unbelievably racist,
02:20but also problematic for a democracy.
02:22That man should never be president of the United States.
02:25Only reason we have a mug shot
02:26is because of the black DA in Fulton County
02:28and the black sheriff that made sure he got one
02:31to ensure that he knew that he was not above the law.
02:34So it is disgusting.
02:37It is offensive.
02:40Okay, I love the one moment.
02:41I'm just gonna speak for all black people.
02:44I was appointed head black.
02:48Here's how we all feel.
02:49He's a racist, okay?
02:51Those are racist comments.
02:53Kim Godwin, the recently ousted president of ABC News,
02:57who is black, she felt the need to weigh in,
02:59which is extraordinary to have the president
03:01of a network, Dan, weigh in on something like this,
03:04and said, those comments, quote,
03:06are as racist as they come.
03:08And went on to say, no matter what your politics,
03:10the fact that a person running for president
03:12made these remarks, period, but also to a public crowd,
03:15and with so many black people present,
03:18and that they stand with him is mind blowing, shocking.
03:22So what did he say?
03:23He said, black people like me
03:25because they've been hurt so badly and discriminated against
03:29and they actually viewed me
03:31as I'm being discriminated against.
03:33There are so much on my side now
03:35because they see what's happening to me happens to them.
03:38Does that make sense?
03:40Flash forward to this week.
03:43MSNBC, which was responsible for many of those sots
03:45we just played in horror,
03:47did a focus group with some voters,
03:52I think it was, was it in Georgia?
03:53Some Trump voters in Georgia,
03:56two of whom in this clip, the listening audience, are black.
03:59And listen to what happened.
04:02Do each of you support Donald Trump?
04:04I do.
04:05Yes.
04:05Yes, yes, for all three of you?
04:06Yes.
04:07Has this trial changed your opinion,
04:09even caused you to waver or question that at all?
04:12No, it's actually caused me to support him more.
04:18I just don't believe that's a coincidence
04:20that we have a trial happening in Atlanta.
04:24We have one happening in New York.
04:26So to question, people are beginning to ask themselves,
04:29like I did, it's like, why now?
04:30I've talked to many people
04:31who formally identified as a Democrat.
04:34They have changed their political persuasion to independent
04:37and they are looking forward to voting for Trump
04:39because now they find something in common
04:42with a political candidate at that level.
04:44When you say they find commonality,
04:46what is that commonality?
04:48They have felt persecuted by the system
04:50of American injustice.
04:53And it's not a stretch for them to think
04:56that Trump may be a victim as well.
05:01Dan.
05:02Yeah.
05:04Yeah, I obviously have a lot to say on this.
05:05Where does Trump go for his apologies?
05:07Yeah, well, listen, I'll just say that he's left this,
05:10like, honestly, man, nobody gives a shit anymore.
05:12They really don't.
05:13You've thrown this term around so,
05:17we just don't.
05:18Listen, Republicans call real racism out when they see it.
05:22We're not waiting for you to do it.
05:24We don't, matter of fact, when you do it, we ignore it
05:26because you call everyone a racist.
05:27We just assume you're lying.
05:29We actually call real racist bullshit out.
05:32You jokers on the left, nobody cares anymore.
05:36Everybody's a racist to you.
05:38It's phony, it's fake.
05:40You don't care about it.
05:42Nobody's listening to you.
05:4430 years ago in radio or TV,
05:47you being tarred by a major cable outlet as a racist
05:50was a death sentence for your career.
05:53Nobody's even listening anymore, so much so,
05:55I know this story because I covered it,
05:57and I covered that panel on MSNBC,
05:59but it had absolutely zero traction
06:03because everyone just assumed,
06:04oh, it's MSNBC saying someone's a racist again.
06:07It's like right over everyone's head.
06:08It's a day ending in Y.
06:10That's, what's that?
06:12It's a day ending in Y.
06:14Yeah, it's a day ending in Y, exactly.
06:16It's just so, it's just typical leftist nonsense.
06:20And I'll say secondly, another point of irony,
06:23that the weapon they want to use the most,
06:25they've so diluted its potency that it has no effect.
06:29The second point I'd like to introduce on this one
06:32is that the left with the racist cudgel
06:36has told black and Hispanic and minority voters for years
06:41that there's this thing out there that exists
06:43called systemic discrimination or systemic racism.
06:48So, whenever I was doing Fox or my own show,
06:50I'd say, well, okay, the system is racist.
06:54That's the derivative word, right?
06:55Systemic racism.
06:57Who's running the system where the racism is happening?
07:00Oh, look, big cities led by Democrats.
07:02So yes, systemic racism is real.
07:04Liberals are doing it, correct?
07:07Like, where is this happening?
07:08It's happening in your cities, liberals.
07:10You're doing it.
07:11So it's strange that you've told black
07:13and Hispanic voters for years,
07:15the system we have governed under, our system,
07:19this liberal system is racist.
07:21Donald Trump then goes and gives a speech
07:23and speaks in a way plainly that Donald Trump speaks.
07:26Donald Trump is not a racist.
07:27He's not even close to racist.
07:29We shouldn't even have to say that.
07:30It's just liberal bullshit.
07:31However-
07:32This is one of the things people love about Trump,
07:33how plainly he speaks.
07:34Yeah, yeah, he's candid.
07:35He just doesn't talk in focus group tested nonsense
07:39and scientific research abstracts.
07:41He talks like normal people talk.
07:43And he brings up the point,
07:45hey, you've been told the system screwed you over?
07:47Yeah, it probably has.
07:49And you know what?
07:50System's screwing me over too.
07:51Conveniently in some of the same cities,
07:53you're getting screwed over.
07:55New York City, Fulton County,
07:58and a lot of voters are out there going,
07:59eh, kind of sounds right to me.
08:02And it's chopping their butts
08:04that this guy's beating them at their own game.
08:05That's the only reason they're doing this.
08:07And I'm telling you, nobody cares.
08:09Zero people listen to the left
08:11with their faux charges of racism.
08:13We call it out on our own.
08:14We don't need these idiots.
08:16What's interesting to me though,
08:17is that it's just, as you pointed out, it's not working.
08:20And it's not even working with their,
08:21the people they think are their core base.
08:24I mean, black women are overwhelmingly Democrat.
08:27They're losing black men as registered Republicans.
08:30But we saw that New York Times Siena poll
08:32come out earlier this week
08:33that showed the same results from November.
08:35Trump's winning in five out of the six key swing states.
08:38All states Joe Biden won in 2020, Trump's up.
08:41In some cases by 10 points, by six points.
08:45I mean, big margins.
08:46And so strong, robust State of the Union response,
08:50at least that was the narrative in the media
08:52about Joe Biden.
08:53Tens of millions of dollars of ads
08:55in all of these swing states.
08:57Nonstop coverage on MSNBC about what a criminal he is
09:00and what a racist he is.
09:02And of course, what a sexist he is
09:03is the stormy thing all, it all ties together, right?
09:06Nothing, hasn't moved the needle at all.
09:09He's winning.
09:10I realize it's not voting day, but right now he's winning.
09:14And to me, it does seem like that had to be
09:17Biden's calculation for saying, okay, I'll do it
09:20because I'm the one on the debates.
09:22I'm the one who needs a game changer in this race.
09:25Yeah, I, you know, there's so much there.
09:29You know, one of the things I wanna say about this is
09:32I called this a long time ago and it was by no means
09:35due to my political analytical skills or anything.
09:37It was just listening to people about, I don't know,
09:40three years ago, a business partner of mine.
09:42He's at a sporting event that we do business with.
09:45And he's talking to, he does a lot of business
09:48with a lot of black business leaders, entertainers,
09:50sports figures, a lot, not just a little bit.
09:53And he calls me after the event.
09:55He's like, hey man, you're never gonna believe this.
09:57But this really prominent guy who comments
09:59on the rap industry told me, you're never gonna believe
10:02how many of these guys love Trump.
10:05He said, they call him like Uncle Trump
10:07or something like that, and they love this guy.
10:09I said, really?
10:11He says, Dan, I'm telling you, man, they love this guy.
10:13He goes, this isn't the first time I've heard this.
10:15Sports everywhere.
10:17And I thought there's something going on there.
10:18So I put that out on my show and it was interesting
10:21because all of the negative feedback I got
10:24were from conservative influencers who were like,
10:26oh man, that's not true, you're overestimating this.
10:30And now you're seeing it in the numbers.
10:31Now is Trump gonna win 25% of the black vote?
10:34No, not even close.
10:35He doesn't have to.
10:36If he wins 18 or 20%, there's no man.
10:39If he wins 14, it's over.
10:41It's a watershed.
10:43People have to understand here that this isn't,
10:45I know they get it.
10:46I shouldn't have said it.
10:47That would make me sound like a jerk.
10:48But this is not a national election.
10:50It is a series of state elections in the electoral college.
10:53And when you look at these states,
10:55Pennsylvania has Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.
10:58You flip four or five percentage points of the black vote
11:01with a substantially large black population
11:04in Philly, in Pittsburgh, in Atlanta, in Detroit.
11:08To Democrats listening to your show,
11:11you need to understand there's no man whatsoever
11:14for you to win a presidential election now
11:16or anytime in the future.
11:18It is the Democrats' biggest nightmare.
11:20It's why to the Democrats out there
11:22and the liberals who have been gaslit,
11:24it's why everything's racist all the time.
11:26And I'll make another case.
11:27Listen, I get it.
11:28I've been a Trump supporter for a while
11:30and it's not for the reasons people think.
11:31I'm a pretty diehard doctrinaire conservative.
11:35I get it.
11:36Has he been the most conservative guy
11:38in the past on some issues?
11:39No, I mean, Donald Trump,
11:40the one thing I respect about him is
11:42contrary to what people tell you,
11:44you do not have to be in line with Donald Trump
11:47or he's gonna kick you out of his camp.
11:48That's bullshit.
11:49Whoever's telling you that is lying or doesn't know.
11:52Donald Trump and I disagreed publicly on my radio show.
11:55You can listen.
11:56Clip on my channel about abortion.
11:58We disagree on it.
11:59He has never once been like, Dan, agree with me
12:02or I'm kicking you out of the next event.
12:05That's total crap.
12:06We've disagreed.
12:07So you may say, well, if you disagree on this issue,
12:10there's a couple more.
12:11I wasn't crazy about criminal justice reform either,
12:13but I'm with him on taxes.
12:15I'm with him on regulatory reform,
12:17judicial appointments, school choice.
12:19Yeah, obviously the border, national security.
12:22I think he's got the NATO situation right.
12:24I think he's got incredible political instincts.
12:26I'll say this about the guy.
12:28His lasting gift to the Republican Party
12:30is gonna be none of that stuff.
12:32And what do you mean?
12:33I'm telling you, it's gonna be none of that stuff.
12:35His greatest gift to the party, his greatest gift,
12:38those are all good things,
12:39the judicial appointments and everything else,
12:41is going to be he opened the eyes
12:44of a number of groups of demographic people out there
12:48who had never in their life considered a Republican
12:52who somehow looked at him and said,
12:55I don't know, it's my guy.
12:56What is it?
12:57I don't know, the French have a name for it
12:58called the Genesee Quat.
12:59If we knew what it was, we'd bottle it.
13:01We don't.
13:02Donald Trump has his gift.
