Intense thunderstorms will track eastwards on Monday across northern areas. Lots of dry, sunny and humid weather further south and under intense heat we may achieve the hottest day of the year so far.

00:00Intense thunderstorms will track eastwards across Scotland on Monday possibly affecting parts of
00:04Northern England and Northern Ireland too but these should generally clear to leave a mainly dry
00:09and sunny afternoon. It'll be a breezy day as well in the north with brisk or even strong winds across
00:14the far northwest. Now further south there will be a different picture so there'll be a lot of dry
00:21and sunny weather around but it'll also feel humid and very warm or locally hot with temperatures
00:26exceeding 30 degrees across many parts of central and eastern England and this is expected to bring
00:32us the hottest day of the year so far. As we move into Tuesday much of central and eastern England
00:39will cling on to that warmth and it'll be another mostly dry and sunny day however a weather front
00:44will bring outbreaks of rain to northern and western areas and here it will also feel a little
00:49bit fresher. Now as we move through the rest of the week it will turn cooler and also more unsettled.
