00:36Last week we talked about Allah's success criteria for two things, one is faith and the other is good deeds.
00:52A person's faith should be strong on Allah, on oneness, on Allah's oneness, on all prophets,
01:01on all prophets, on all books, on angels, on the day of judgement, on destiny, after death, on rising again.
01:10This faith should be strong in our hearts, this belief should be firm in our hearts.
01:21So this is number one and number two that we should do good deeds.
01:29Allah wants us to be people of actions.
01:32wa al-asri inna al-insana la fee khusrin illa allatheena aamanu ba'milus saanihaat wa tawasawu bilhaq wa tawasawu bil-sabr
01:40No doubt a person is in loss, except for those who do good deeds, keep advising each other on the right path, keep advising each other on the firm path.
01:54Faith and good deeds, you can see in the Quran, faith and good deeds have come together again and again.
02:01I also said that good deeds are not just Salat, fasting and Zakat.
02:07Every good deed is a good deed, but it has a condition, and the condition is to have sincerity.
02:16Ikhlas-e-niyat means to work for Allah, to have sincerity.
02:23We say that something is very pure, what does it mean?
02:28It means that it has no impurities, it is pure from impurities, it is pure from impurities, it is pure milk, it is pure honey.
02:37This is sincerity, to have sincerity in good deeds, it makes it a good deed.
02:46First of all, the deed itself should be good.
02:49A bad deed is not good with a good intention.
02:54It cannot be that I steal with the intention of helping the poor.
03:00This good intention does not make a bad deed good.
03:05A bad deed is a bad deed.
03:07To lie is a bad deed, to cheat is a bad deed, to cheat is a bad deed, to steal from people is a bad deed.
03:15All these bad deeds do not become good with a good intention.
03:19So, a bad deed will always be a bad deed.
03:21That is why it is very important to acquire knowledge.
03:24It is very important to learn the commandments, laws and principles that Allah has told us.
03:32Some people say, why do we need to learn religion?
03:36We know how to offer prayers, we know how to offer prayers, we know how to fast, we know how to fast.
03:43But, it is not just about prayers, fasts and charity.
03:48We need to learn how to spend every moment of life, what is good and what is bad in it.
03:55So, what is right and what is wrong?
03:58First, we need to learn that a wrong deed is not right with a good intention.
04:03But, if a good deed has a bad intention, then a good deed becomes wrong with a bad intention.
04:13If there is no sincerity, then a good deed becomes bad.
04:25In Surah Al-Ma'un, Allah says,
04:27Destruction is for those who offer prayers,
04:34who are lazy in their prayers.
04:38أَلَّذِينَهُمْ جُرَاءُونَ
04:40We offer prayers to show off.
04:44It is a good deed to offer prayers,
04:48but because we offer prayers to show off,
04:52it is not sincerity.
04:54It is not a pure deed.
04:56It is an imitation of showing off.
04:59So, Allah says that this is destruction.
05:02So, Allah wants us to have sincerity in our good deeds.
05:08اِنَّمَا الْآمَالُ بِالنِّيَّاتِ
05:10It is a famous hadith.
05:11Most people know it.
05:13The Prophet said,
05:15اِنَّمَا الْآمَالُ بِالنِّيَّاتِ
05:17وَإِنَّمَا لِكُلِّ مْرِمْ مَعْنَوَىٰ
05:20All actions are based on intention.
05:23And everyone will get what he has intended.
05:26So, it is very important to combine a good deed with a good intention.
05:32If a good deed is with a bad intention,
05:36then that good deed will not be acceptable to Allah.
05:40So, the success criteria are
05:42faith, good deeds, faith, good deeds, and good deeds.
05:50To do good deeds, it is important to have a good intention.
05:55So, to have a good intention,
05:57to keep an eye on your intention,
05:59to keep a check on yourself,
06:01that why am I doing this?
06:03Is this purely for Allah's pleasure?
06:06Or is there some other intention in it?
06:09Allah Almighty wants us to do all actions only for Allah.
06:14Allah does not want us to do good deeds for Allah.
06:17This good deed is shirk.
06:20One is shirk, which is called jali shirk,
06:26which is open shirk.
06:28Right?
06:29He is prostrating to a grave.
06:32This is open shirk.
06:34He is prostrating to a human being.
06:36This is open shirk.
06:37There is hidden shirk.
06:39And this hidden shirk is that
06:41I am doing good deeds for Allah and for someone else.
06:46This is hidden shirk.
06:49This is not acceptable to Allah.
06:51Allah Almighty wants us to do good deeds
06:55and that is purely for Allah.
07:00There is a blessed hadith,
07:03which is very heart-wrenching.
07:07Prophet Kareem A.S. said,
07:09that on the Day of Judgment, Allah will raise people.
07:12I am just telling you the meaning.
07:14So, three people will be called first.
07:17One of them,
07:19according to a tradition,
07:21will be a reciter of the Quran.
07:24And according to another tradition,
07:25he will be a scholar.
07:26And there is no such conflict between the two.
07:29Because,
07:32the reciters of the Quran
07:35were also scholars of the Quran.
07:38They did not just memorize the Quran
07:41and read it,
07:43but they also understood the Quran.
07:45So, they became scholars of the Quran.
07:46So, there is no conflict.
07:49This tradition is also correct.
07:50That tradition is also correct.
07:51So, if we take the tradition of scholars,
07:54for example,
07:56Prophet Kareem A.S. said,
07:58that three people will be called first,
08:00scholars of the Quran.
08:01And they will be asked,
08:03what did you do with the blessings I gave you?
08:07Your intellect is a blessing.
08:08Your memory is also a blessing.
08:10Right?
08:11So, with memory,
08:12a person memorizes the Quran.
08:14With intellect,
08:15a person understands the Quran.
08:16He acquires knowledge.
08:17So, these are blessings.
08:19So, what did you do with the blessings I gave you?
08:21So, he will say,
08:22O Allah,
08:23I learned the Quran and taught it.
08:25So, Allah Almighty will say,
08:28You are lying.
08:31You learned it for me.
08:32You memorized it for me.
08:33You recited it for me.
08:35In a tradition,
08:36I used to recite the Quran in Tahajjud for you.
08:39Allah Almighty will say,
08:40You are lying.
08:41Angels will also say,
08:42You are lying.
08:44Allah Almighty will say,
08:45You memorized the Quran
08:48and taught it for me.
08:49That is why you learned it.
08:51So that people will say,
08:52Wow!
08:53He is a reciter of the Quran.
08:55He is a Hafiz of the Quran.
08:57He is a scholar of the Quran.
09:01You did it for people.
09:03And you got what you wanted.
09:06People praised you a lot.
09:08They called you a scholar.
09:09They called you a Hafiz.
09:10They called you a reciter.
09:12Another person will be called
09:16who used to spend a lot.
09:20He had a lot of wealth.
09:22Allah Almighty will say,
09:23What did you do with the blessings I gave you?
09:26Now wealth is a great blessing.
09:28O Allah,
09:29I spent wealth on your way.
09:33Allah Almighty will say,
09:34You are lying.
09:36Angels will also say,
09:37You are lying.
09:38Allah Almighty will say,
09:39You spent wealth so that people will say,
09:42He is a reciter,
09:43He is a scholar.
09:44He is very generous.
09:45And people will say,
09:47You are very generous.
09:48You got what you wanted.
09:53A third person will be called.
09:55He was killed in a war.
10:01What did you do with the blessings I gave you?
10:04He will say,
10:05O Allah,
10:06I fought for you.
10:08And I gave my life for you.
10:10Allah Almighty will say,
10:12You are lying.
10:13Angels will also say,
10:14You are lying.
10:15You did not fight because you had to give your life for me.
10:19You fought so that people will say later,
10:23You were very brave.
10:25You were fearless.
10:27And people will say,
10:29You were very brave.
10:30You got what you wanted.
10:32Now I do not have anything for all of you.
10:35Your aim was to get people's praises.
10:39It was a show off.
10:41You got it.
10:42And it is mentioned in Hadith,
10:44That these three will be thrown into hell.
10:48Qari-e-Quran,
10:49Slash Hafiz-e-Quran,
10:51The one who spends a lot of money,
10:54On the poor,
10:55On the beggars,
10:56On the poor,
10:57On the orphans,
10:58On the widows,
10:59On the three's work,
11:01And what could be more than this,
11:03That he did not give his life.
11:05These three people will be thrown into hell first.
11:09He is not a drunkard,
11:12He is not a connoisseur,
11:14He is not a gambler.
11:18When this hadith reached the companions,
11:22They used to get worried.
11:26Those who used to listen to it,
11:27They used to cry.
11:28They used to get unconscious while crying.
11:31Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him,
11:33Who is the narrator of this hadith,
11:35When he recited this hadith to one of his disciples,
11:38He could not hear it.
11:40He used to recite it,
11:42And he used to get unconscious.
11:43Then he used to get courage,
11:44He used to recite it,
11:45And he used to get unconscious.
11:48When this hadith reached one of the companions,
11:50He said,
11:51If these people,
11:53If they are in this state,
11:54Then what will happen to the rest?
11:57Now think,
11:58How dangerous it is to not have sincerity.
12:02We do good deeds sometimes,
12:06More than worship,
12:07Which I say again and again,
12:09That good deeds are not just worship,
12:11To take care of someone,
12:12To visit someone,
12:13To ask for someone's well-being,
12:15To feed someone,
12:18To comfort someone,
12:19To go to a funeral,
12:20To meet someone with a smile,
12:23To remove something painful from the way,
12:25These are all good deeds.
12:27But,
12:28If the intention is not right in doing good deeds,
12:31You are feeding people,
12:33But the intention is that people will praise me.
12:36Quran says,
12:38Who are the people of Allah?
12:39Who are the people of Taqwa?
12:41Who say,
12:48That I am only feeding you for Allah.
12:51I don't want any reward from you,
12:54I don't even want any compensation for this.
12:56I don't even want that I am feeding you,
12:58You also feed me.
12:59I don't want reward,
13:00I don't want thanks.
13:02Now think,
13:03How sincere are the companions?
13:06They say,
13:07I don't even want thanks,
13:08Don't even say thank you to me.
13:10It shouldn't be that,
13:11By saying thanks to you,
13:13My reward that has been written by Allah,
13:15Should be lessened or finished.
13:17I don't want any reward,
13:19Nor any thanks.
13:23Is this sincerity?
13:24But,
13:25There is a need to create this sincerity.
13:27And with sincerity,
13:29Even the smallest of deeds,
13:31Becomes a big deal.
13:32Once,
13:33The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
13:35On one occasion,
13:36Said that,
13:37All people should bring their own wealth.
13:40So,
13:41The companions brought it.
13:43Some brought something,
13:44Some brought something else.
13:45This is the same incident,
13:46When,
13:47Sayyidina Abu Bakr Siddiq, may Allah be pleased with him,
13:48Brought all his wealth.
13:49Sayyidina Umar brought half of his wealth.
13:51So,
13:52Inside the Masjid-e-Nabwi,
13:53A pile of stuff was placed.
13:55So,
13:56One of the companions,
13:57Who was poor,
13:58Didn't have much wealth.
13:59So,
14:00He said,
14:01I shouldn't stay behind.
14:02So,
14:03All night,
14:04In a garden of a Jew,
14:06He worked.
14:08And,
14:09In the morning,
14:10That Jew,
14:11Gave him some dates,
14:12As a compensation.
14:13As his salary.
14:15A handful of dates.
14:17So,
14:18He brought those dates,
14:19And came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
14:21And said,
14:22O Prophet,
14:23Accept this from me.
14:24This is what I have.
14:26The hypocrites were sitting there.
14:27The hypocrites,
14:28Started making fun of him.
14:30This is also mentioned in the Quran.
14:32They said,
14:33Allah does not need
14:34These few dates of yours.
14:37The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
14:39May we be sacrificed for him.
14:41How he used to keep people's hearts.
14:44The stuff that was lying there,
14:45He took those dates,
14:47And spread it on the whole pile.
14:49And said,
14:50This is too much for all of them.
14:53He had sincerity.
14:54It was for Allah.
14:56He did this,
14:57Sincerely for Allah.
15:00Allah,
15:01Accepts even the smallest of deeds,
15:03And makes it big.
15:04If,
15:05The intention in it,
15:06Is only for Allah.
15:08There is a need to work hard on this.
15:10There is a need to work hard on this.
15:12There is a treasure of Hadith.
15:15Allah wants in the Quran,
15:16Sincerely for Allah is their religion.
15:20That,
15:21Sincerely for Allah,
15:22Is their religion.
15:31My Salah,
15:33My worship,
15:34And according to one translation,
15:35My sacrifice,
15:37My living,
15:38My dying,
15:39All of this is for Allah,
15:40Who has no partner.
15:41Make your whole life,
15:42For Allah.
15:45Do good deeds,
15:46Do not disobey Allah,
15:48Do not sin,
15:49And do good deeds,
15:50And do good deeds,
15:51In which there is diversity,
15:52And not just worship,
15:53But society,
15:54And good relations,
15:55And good morals,
15:57And do good deeds,
15:58Only for Allah.
15:59There are tests,
16:01There are tests,
16:03But,
16:05Keep your intention pure,
16:07May Allah enable us,
16:08To understand this,
16:10And do good deeds,
16:12Only for Allah.
16:14InshaAllah,
16:15We will take a short break,
16:16After the break,
16:17We will be back with your questions,
16:18Keep emailing your questions,
16:19To dinefitrat,
16:20At arydigital.tv
16:22Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuhu
16:24Welcome back,
16:25We are back with your questions,
16:27Someone asked a question,
16:30How to develop,
16:33Sincerity,
16:35Give us some guidelines,
16:38To develop sincerity,
16:39Accountability is very important,
16:41Accountability is very important,
16:44Keep an eye on your deeds,
16:46Keep an eye on your words,
16:48Keep an eye on yourself,
16:50We can't forget ourselves,
16:54Allah said,
16:56Take care of yourself,
17:02Those who are misguided,
17:03They can never harm you,
17:05If you are guided,
17:07Our job is to tell people good things,
17:10But take care of yourself,
17:11Take care of yourself,
17:18Allah said,
17:22You tell people good things,
17:25But you forget yourself,
17:27And you read the book,
17:29Don't you have sense?
17:31What is this?
17:32You tell people good things,
17:33But you forget yourself,
17:35We should be most concerned about ourselves,
17:38Always keep an eye on our heart,
17:40Why did I do this work?
17:42Think before doing work,
17:44Why am I doing it?
17:45If there is a doubt,
17:47If there is a lack of sincerity,
17:49If there is a doubt,
17:51Correct it,
17:53Do it with sincerity,
17:55Even while doing work,
17:57Keep an eye on yourself,
17:59And even after work,
18:01Check if there is a lack of sincerity,
18:03Check if there is a lack of sincerity,
18:05If there is a lack of sincerity,
18:07Then apologize to Allah,
18:09Seek forgiveness,
18:10Keep praying,
18:11This is also very important,
18:13Keep asking Allah for help,
18:14Make my work with sincerity,
18:16Keep asking Allah for help,
18:18Keep an eye on a few things,
18:20Keep an eye on a few things,
18:22When people are around me,
18:24Do I do my work better,
18:26Do I do my work better,
18:28Versus when I am alone,
18:30This can be a very good calculation,
18:32This can be a very good calculation,
18:34With your own calculation,
18:36With honesty,
18:38When people are around me,
18:40Does my work quality improve?
18:42Does my work quality improve?
18:44When I am alone,
18:46If the quality improves,
18:48When people are around me,
18:50It means that my ego,
18:52It means that my ego,
18:54Is playing around with me,
18:56Something is wrong,
19:00If someone is not observing me,
19:03If someone is not observing me,
19:05Then how do I do it?
19:07Then how do I do it?
19:09This is the question,
19:11Is my work effective or not?
19:12If someone is not observing me,
19:14This should be checked,
19:16One more thing,
19:18One more thing,
19:21When I am doing a work,
19:23Do I need recognition?
19:25Do I need appreciation?
19:27Should people praise me?
19:29If they do not praise me,
19:31Do I feel pain in my heart,
19:33That I did not appreciate my work?
19:35That I did not appreciate my job?
19:37Do I give food to someone,
19:39If they still do not praise me,
19:40If you don't praise me, if you don't thank me, does it hurt me?
19:44Let me ask you a few questions.
19:52I am just feeding you food for Allah.
19:54I don't need any compensation for it,
19:56I don't need any reward,
19:57I don't need any thanks.
19:58This is the highest level of sincerity.
20:01So if someone doesn't praise you,
20:03doesn't thank you,
20:05although they should,
20:06if someone does it to us,
20:08then we should thank them.
20:10Those who don't thank people,
20:12don't thank Allah.
20:15They don't thank Allah.
20:17When someone does good to us,
20:19we should thank them.
20:21But if we do good to someone,
20:23and they don't thank us,
20:26does it hurt our heart?
20:29So this can also be a compensation.
20:32And if someone doesn't appreciate things,
20:35doesn't acknowledge things,
20:37then do I feel disheartened?
20:39Does my passion go away?
20:41When a person thinks a little,
20:43that my passion is gone,
20:45no one is recognizing my work,
20:47no one is appreciating me,
20:50I don't do it now,
20:52what's the use?
20:53If all these things are arising in our heart,
20:57then it means that there is a lack of sincerity.
21:00Because if we are doing it for Allah,
21:02then I will keep doing it.
21:04There was a great scholar in our subcontinent.
21:10He gave a big lecture,
21:12gave a speech,
21:14there were hundreds of people.
21:16He gave a long speech.
21:18He used to give long speeches too.
21:20Sometimes his speech would last for 2-3 hours.
21:24One time he gave a speech,
21:26so many people had come.
21:28So when the speech was over,
21:30then the prayer was done,
21:31people left,
21:32then a person came,
21:34and he said,
21:36I have come from a long distance,
21:38and I missed my bus,
21:40and I wanted to attend your speech,
21:42your lecture,
21:44but because I missed my bus,
21:46so I took another bus,
21:48and reached late,
21:50so I am very sorry.
21:52But I have come from a long distance,
21:54just to listen to you.
21:56He made that person,
21:58one person sit,
22:00and presented the whole thing,
22:02the summary of the speech.
22:04This is sincerity.
22:06Whether it is one person,
22:08or thousands of people,
22:10when a person is doing it for Allah,
22:12then he doesn't care.
22:14Because he is doing it for Allah.
22:16His goal is to take reward from Allah.
22:18So please,
22:20if we are feeling discouraged,
22:22because we are not getting appreciation,
22:24we are not getting recognition,
22:26then we should lift ourselves up,
22:28because I am doing it for Allah.
22:30Whether it is one person,
22:32or thousands of people,
22:34Sayyidina Nuh A.S.
22:36preached for 950 years.
22:38It is mentioned in the Quran.
22:40950 years.
22:42950 years.
22:44A handful of people believed in him.
22:46But his passion did not end.
22:48Because he was doing it for Allah.
22:50It was Allah's command.
22:52For Allah's sake,
22:54people were being told,
22:56we need to develop this passion.
22:58Only then will there be acceptance.
23:00And the real thing is acceptance.
23:02When we talk about
23:04success, faith,
23:06and good deeds,
23:08then we need the acceptance
23:10of good deeds.
23:12Unfortunately,
23:14people go for Hajj and Umrah.
23:16But,
23:18may Allah forgive us,
23:20but there can be people
23:22whose goal is to go for Hajj and Umrah.
23:24We do not judge anyone.
23:26We do not have the authority
23:28to judge anyone.
23:30Only Allah knows the state of intentions.
23:32We do not have any authority.
23:34But sometimes,
23:36there are such things
23:38that you are amazed
23:40at what this person is saying.
23:42Right?
23:44So, going for Hajj and Umrah,
23:46a person may spend so much money,
23:48but if there is no sincerity of intention,
23:50sincerity of intention,
23:52then spending so much money
23:54and going for Hajj and Umrah
23:56will be a waste.
23:58Because, at the end of the day,
24:00it is a matter of acceptance.
24:02May Allah make us successful
24:04on the Day of Judgment.
24:06May Allah make us successful in the Hereafter.
24:08By making our faith and good deeds
24:10the criteria,
24:12at the end of the day,
24:14Allah's mercy will come.
24:16Because whatever we do,
24:18our actions are not worthy
24:20If there is sincerity of intention,
24:22then Allah will accept it
24:24with His mercy.
24:26There is hope from Allah.
24:28But, there should be sincerity.
24:30It should not be that we go for Hajj and Umrah
24:32and there is no sincerity.
24:34So, our actions should also show
24:36that we have sincerity in us.
24:38We are doing Tawaf-e-Kaaba.
24:40And while doing Tawaf-e-Kaaba,
24:42our heart should be attached to Allah.
24:44At that time,
24:46while making selfies or Tawaf,
24:48it is not the time to make a video.
24:50It is the time to attach our heart to Allah.
24:54We are doing Sa'eed.
24:56It is the time to attach our heart to Allah.
24:58We are sitting in Masjid-e-Nabi,
25:00in Riyadh-ul-Jannah,
25:02and praying.
25:04It is the time to attach our heart to Allah.
25:06The state of waiting there,
25:08with Allah's Messenger,
25:10the state of love,
25:12the state of Durood-ul-Salam,
25:14the state of prayer,
25:16it is the time to attach our heart to Allah.
25:18I have given the example of Ibadat.
25:20In the same way,
25:22if you are helping a poor relative,
25:24a neighbour,
25:26or doing something out of the way for someone,
25:28it is only for Allah.
25:30Sometimes,
25:32these people may not do good to us.
25:34And a person may say,
25:36Oh! Why did I help him?
25:38He turned out to be such a person.
25:40It does not matter if he turned out to be such a person.
25:42My aim was to help someone for Allah.
25:44And I did so,
25:46with the hope of Allah's good reward.
25:48With the hope of Allah's acceptance.
25:50So, InshAllah,
25:52we should be steadfast on this.
25:54We should be sincere.
25:56We should keep our intentions.
25:58We should keep our accountability.
26:00And if at any time,
26:02there is a mistake in our intentions,
26:04we should correct it, repent,
26:06seek forgiveness, and then stand up again.
26:08InshAllah,
26:10we should spend our lives in this way.
26:12We should strengthen our faith.
26:14We should be made to do good deeds.
26:16And we should be made to do good deeds
26:18with sincerity.
26:20May Allah make me like this.
26:22May Allah make you like this.
26:24InshAllah.
26:26InshAllah, next week,
26:28we will meet again.
26:30For that time, allow me to leave.
26:32Remember me in your prayers.
26:34Alhamdulillah Rabbil Alameen.
26:36Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuhu.
