00:00The Lions have been slowly running up that hill, Kate Bush style, slowly climbing the
00:10ladder. And the Detroit Lions are a team that has a home field advantage, which is something
00:16not every organization has. You look at the playoffs last year, the Detroit Lion fan base
00:21was psyched to say the least about the Detroit Lions having a home playoff game. It was wild
00:27and I hard lessons last year. Maybe that's the best way to put it. Sometimes you got to learn
00:31the hard way. Dan Campbell apparently had to last year because they had the 49ers on the ropes and
00:37they let him back in and the rest is history and sort of the Green Bay Packers to a certain extent.
00:42So the 49ers kind of just eat their way through. I love the lines in the NFC this year. And I also
00:46love him for fancy. Why? Because Jared Goff plays all but three games in a dome this year between
00:53his home and road games. Jared Goff is the original indoor cat. He is that guy that has
00:58consistently been fantastic in those temperature controlled environments. Love that for him.
01:03You already know my love for Jameer Gibbs. David Montgomery is still around, still going to get
01:08you some touchdowns, a decent flex RB for those touchdowns, maybe even low end RB too. He'll
01:14still get his work would be my guess, but Jameer Gibbs is going to prove to be by far the better
01:20investment, even though it is a more expensive one. I'm still ready to do that. And then you
01:25have the emergence of Sam LaPorta last year from week one, George, Sam LaPorta was that guy. And
01:30we saw it in that opening game against the Chiefs where, wow, Sam LaPorta is going to be a big part
01:35of his offense very quickly. And he ended up being the number one tight end in fantasy last year.
01:40Can he repeat that? Or do you think the ranks have it wrong? You think Travis Kelsey still
01:45deserves to be at the top of the tight end board? No, I think it's LaPorta. Kelsey, I think they're
01:52going to manage his snaps, right? Make sure he stays healthy all year long. And I know
01:57we're not talking about Casey. If they have some other weapons there, I think they'll hope to
02:00use those guys worthy, Rice. I don't think Rice gets suspended this year to keep Kelsey
02:04healthier for the playoffs. I love Detroit just as much as you do. I'll take Gopp as my
02:09quarterback one, no problem. You and I already love Gibbs, Montgomery. He was a secondary running back.
02:14I like him. Love St. Brown. I think Jameson Williams, by the way, is going to make that next
02:19step. I do. I think he's going to take that next step into, I don't want to say stardom, but a really
02:24good wide receiver. That nice little tandem they're going to have there. I already said LaPorta
02:28is a fantastic number one. They should have beaten San Fran last year. My best friend, by the way,
02:33is a Detroit Lions fan. Don't ask me why. He's my age. He only lives in New York. And I've asked,
02:38how did he become a Lions fan in the 70s? How does that happen? But he is. He always has been.
02:45The look on his face after that game, well, because the wide receiver kept dropping passes.
02:48That's why they lost. I know Campbell's a wild man, but if that wide receiver,
02:53why does his name escape me? He's not on the team anymore either.
02:57Yeah. I can't remember who it was either now. There's a lot of names in our head currently.
03:01The name escaped me, but he dropped two passes. Two. Kelsey, the one. They win the game.
03:06I'm going to hang it on. I'm going to hang it on Dan Campbell again.
03:09I'm not hanging on Dan. Dan Campbell is a wild man. I love the guy.
03:12He's George. You know why everybody hates Bill Belichick? Cause he's boring.
03:16He plays field position. He plays the clock. He grinds things out there. He's boring,
03:21you know? And people always say, Oh, you know, I get to watch these Patriot games in the playoffs
03:24where they just grind out clock and they play field position and punt a lot and do whatever.
03:28Like sometimes you got to do that. You can't be as risky in those situations in the playoff games,
03:32especially when you have a lead, you can't do that stuff. It just,
03:35this is not the regular season. This is not week six, you know, where you're facing the
03:39Cleveland Browns or some one-off non-conference team or something like that. No, no, no.
03:43This is the playoffs. You play smart. You make the other team beat you when you have the lead,
03:47but you mentioned Jameson Williams. Also another interesting piece too.
03:51I think the best way to put that is playmaker, right? The guy who stretches the field,
03:54the downfield threat, what he did at Alabama. Hopefully finally we get to see it here,
03:59which is the guy that when you need a big play, he comes up with it. And
04:02to add that into how I'm on Ross St. Brown, who was wide receiver three last year,
04:061500 receiving yards. You know, I don't know why he doesn't get more discussion and more play at
04:13the very top of the board, to be honest with you, George, because Jefferson, you mentioned earlier,
04:17does not have a clean quarterback situation. Jamar chase has had some injury issues. CD
04:23lamb has the holdout. CMC has a huge workload. I'm on Ron never gets mentioned as the one,
04:28one potential player, but I don't know if there's a safer investment.
04:31And every time I'm in the middle of a draft, if it's five, six, seven,
04:35I'm on Ross on the board, I'm taking them every single time. George,
04:39I have no argument with you. None outside of Tyree kill. I think he is probably the safest
04:43investment because of all the reasons you mentioned chase to hold in a lamb, the hold out,
04:48you know, Jefferson, the quarterback, he is the safest. Once again, the safest pick there.
04:52And I don't think there's any doubt about that except for Tyree kill who, by the way, would be
04:56my one-on-one.
