00:00So how excited are you for the airshow today?
00:03Pretty excited, pretty excited. I've been following the Red Arrows for many years now.
00:09Is this the first time you've been? Have you been multiple times?
00:11Second year I've been here.
00:14So you said you came from Somerset the second year?
00:17South Somerset, yeah.
00:18How long ago did you have to set off to get here exactly?
00:22Oh we're camping at Ream Hills as a family, it's a family holiday sort of thing for the year.
00:29What activity, what planes are you most excited to see?
00:32Red Arrows by far.
00:36Bestest blade team in the world.
00:41How excited are you for the airshow today?
00:43On a scale of 1 to 10, 11. I really am, it's been years since I've seen an airshow.
00:48We used to go and watch them at Woodford,
00:50so of course that stopped, that was in Stockport where they had their own airfield.
00:53Now the kids, Jim here and Eve there, they've never seen an airshow,
00:58so I'll be interested to see how they get on with it.
01:01We'll see how the noise is because this little boy here doesn't like the noise very much,
01:04but if we can put up with this, what's going on around here, then we should be okay.
01:09Is this your first time coming to a particular Blackpool airshow?
01:11First time at a Blackpool airshow, yeah, yeah absolutely, yeah.
01:14It's the first time I've been to an airshow for 30 years probably.
01:19I would say probably even a little bit longer, maybe 35 years.
01:23So very excited to see them.
01:25I can watch the planes going across all the time, so I'm quite fascinated by them.
01:29When you work from home you take solace in anything,
01:31so I'm watching people flying in and out.
01:33And I live quite near Manchester airport,
01:35but I think for the kids it's very important to see this
01:37because it's quite spectacular, the Red Arrows.
01:40I hope they are.
01:41Yeah, so you're here all the way from Manchester for the airport,
01:46and how early did you have to set off to get here today?
01:49Well, we set off at daft o'clock
01:51because we were told it would be very, very busy, very early.
01:53It wasn't, but we've been up and down the front, we've been on the pier.
01:57Kids have been on the rides, we've been in all the kiss-me-quick hat shops.
02:01We're going to buy some sticks of rock on the way back
02:03and we'll stop for a meal on the way home.
02:04So it's just been a nice day out,
02:06because you've got to make the most of it while the sun shines this year.
02:10So which planes are you looking forward to seeing?
02:13Red Arrows, without a doubt.
02:15They've got this tribute British second world aircraft flying over later on.
02:21I'd like to see those, and then the Typhoon very last of all.
02:25I'm interested in the big jets rather than the sort of turbo props or the props.
02:30But I think for just pure putting on a show, the Red Arrows all the time.
02:37How excited are you for the Blackpool Airshow?
02:41How excited are you for the airshow?
02:43Oh, very excited, yeah.
02:46Is this your first time coming to the airshow?
02:49No, I've been here a few times.
02:50How many times?
02:51A few times, two or three times.
02:54Thoroughly enjoyed them.
02:56How far have you had to travel to get here?
02:58I've travelled 200 miles from Glasgow.
03:02When did you have to set off from Glasgow to get here for today?
03:06I set off at half past six this morning.
03:10What planes are you most looking forward to seeing?
03:13I want to see the Typhoon.
03:15The Red Arrows and the Typhoon, the best.
