Comedian Jake Weddle recently opened up about why he distanced himself from working with MrBeast, as the YouTube giant, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, faces mounting controversies. MrBeast, with 309 million subscribers, has been under fire following the dismissal of long-time collaborator Ava Tyson over allegations of inappropriate conduct with a minor, and further accusations surfaced from former reality show contestants regarding poor conditions and injuries. Additionally, resurfaced racist and homophobic comments from 2017 added to the backlash. Weddle’s revelations include claims of psychological and physical harm from participating in a scrapped solitary confinement video, as well as allegations of mistreatment and hush money, shared in a two-part documentary on YouTuber DogPack404’s channel.

00:00Comedian Jake Weddle just spoke out about why he walked away from working
00:04with Mr. Beast, as weeks of controversy continue to follow YouTube's most
00:08popular creator. I didn't do this for money, I didn't do this for fame, and I
00:13want to tell people what Jimmy's really like. Mr. Beast, whose real name is Jimmy
00:20Donaldson, is arguably the most well-known creator out there. As of the
00:24making of this video, his YouTube channel holds 309 million subscribers. However,
00:29the past few weeks, Donaldson has been involved in multiple controversies, and
00:33it just got worse. It started with Donaldson firing his longtime friend and
00:38collaborator, Ava Tyson, after allegations of inappropriate conversations with a
00:42minor resurfaced. Mr. Beast took to X2Share he hired an independent third
00:46party to investigate the allegations, and went on to write,
00:49That said, I've seen enough online and take an immediate action to remove Ava
00:54from the company, my channel, and any association with Mr. Beast. I do not
00:58condone or support any of the inappropriate actions. Shortly after this,
01:03fellow YouTuber Rosanna Pansino, who has spoken out against Mr. Beast in the past,
01:07began sharing testimonials from alleged contestants on Mr. Beast's upcoming
01:12reality show, Beast Games. Multiple stories Pansino shared alleged contestants
01:16were not given enough food or water, were not provided feminine hygiene
01:20products, and challenges resulted in multiple injuries. What is going on here
01:24is beyond disgusting and extremely dangerous. So I'm gonna read to you her
01:30message. I was a contestant until the end. I also didn't accept their hush money.
01:36People were having seizures because they were not getting medication. Men started
01:41realizing that they could take out the women without being eliminated. Guys
01:46started tackling and hitting women. The lack of water, food, and medical attention
01:52was embarrassing and sad. Women and elders injured. I witnessed two seizures,
01:57a sprained ankle. Staff and medical did nothing to help her, leaving her for
02:02hours crying. To hear more allegations made against Beast Games, you can find
02:06Rosanna Pansino on TikTok and YouTube, where she explains the claims in greater
02:11detail. Then, on August 1st, racist and homophobic comments Mr. Beast made
02:16during a 2017 livestream resurfaced. In the stream, a viewer shared a comment
02:21about selling a black person for $400, to which Donaldson replied,
02:25Uh, the most I'd pay is like $300. Sorry. $400 is just out of my price range for
02:30that type of stuff. As the YouTuber started facing backlash online, Mr. Beast's
02:35team released this statement. When Jimmy was a teenager, he acted like many kids
02:39and used inappropriate language while trying to be funny. Over the years, he has
02:43repeatedly apologized and has learned that increasing influence comes with
02:46increased responsibility to be more aware and more sensitive to the power of
02:50language. Most recently, and arguably the most serious allegations brought against
02:56the YouTuber so far, involves a former collaborator of Mr. Beast, comedian Jake
03:00Weddle. Weddle was interviewed by YouTuber Dogpack404 and appears in a
03:05two-part documentary titled, I Worked for Mr. Beast. Weddle appeared in a few of
03:09Mr. Beast's videos and worked with the creator from 2019 to around 2021. In the
03:14video from Dogpack, Weddle claims he participated in a scrapped Mr. Beast's
03:18solitary confinement video, in which he was in a white room with lights and
03:22cameras on him 24-7, with the aftermath leaving him both psychologically and
03:26physically hurt. After 30 days, you're gonna get $300,000 because it's $10,000 a
03:32day. And I don't know, man. I grew up poor in North Carolina. I said, excuse me?
03:38I'll yell dance for you if you put that kind of money in my face, sure. I had a
03:43lot of good people looking out for me saying, we gotta stop. I go,
03:46they're not turning the lights off. He goes, what? That's a war crime. We're not
03:51allowed to do that to terrorists. Oh, oh good. 24 hours breaking the Geneva
04:00Convention, I guess, is what we're doing. Jimmy said, can you say to the camera how
04:05thankful you are that now you can pay back your student loans? You know how
04:12hard it was to do a take of that and pretend to make it genuine? Weddell then
04:18explained a challenge in the video where Mr. Beast asked him to run a marathon on
04:22a treadmill in the room and felt like he couldn't say no because he didn't want
04:26to ruin the video or waste the company's time and money. I'm running until 3 a.m.
04:32I got off the treadmill. The blisters I had on my feet were like, you wouldn't
04:39believe, just all over, just these big red, I couldn't, I couldn't walk. My muscles
04:44were like just, the lactic acid, I, that's when I was like, I'm done, I can't, I'm
04:49done, I'm done, I'm out, I'm out, I'm out, I'm out, I'm out. And they didn't
04:52let me leave right away either. They wanted to make sure, you know, that it was fine.
04:57So I just, you know, slept for a while. They turned the lights off.
05:02Weddell also makes numerous claims about the overall treatment of employees and allegedly
05:07being paid hush money. As of the making of this video, Mr. Beast has not responded to
05:11any of Weddell's claims. If you're interested in hearing Weddell's full story, you can find
05:16him on YouTube and TikTok, and watch his full interview on Dogpack 404's channel.
