Paris Olympics 2024: Day 14 look-ahead
Transcript
00:00Good morning from day 14 here in Paris, where Katerina Johnson-Thompson begins the day
00:04leading the heptathlon after a phenomenal performance. There have been question marks
00:08about her fitness, ever since really the Achilles surgery she's had, she's struggled with take-off
00:14and stuff, but she jumped a fantastic high jump, best she's done for five years, so it'll
00:17be interesting to see how she goes in the long jump, the opening event of the day for
00:20her, followed by the javelin and 800 metres, up in very stiff competition against Nafi Thiam
00:25and Anna Hall, so it should be a brilliant day there. Athletics also ends tonight with
00:29the 4x100m sprint relay, so both the men's and the women's, GB have chances in both.
00:36If we look at the track, there's a lot of different rounds of the track cycling today,
00:40but there is a final in the women's Madison with Nia Evans and Eleanor Barker, who will
00:46be in medal contention, but kind of hard to predict that one. Toby Roberts, the teenager,
00:50is going in climbing, he's had some wins in the World Cup, looked very good, qualifying
00:55in second place. We've got some taekwondo athletes going as well today, Cade Cunningham
01:01and Rebecca McGowan, both hoping to be in contention. That spans the whole day, ending
01:07with finals later tonight.
