Japan commemorates 79th anniversary of Nagasaki atomic bombing

Japan on Friday (Aug 9) marked the 79th anniversary of the Nagasaki atomic bombing with a peace ceremony amid some controversy.

Israel's ambassador to Japan was not invited to attend this year's ceremony which prompted the U.S. and other G7 nations to snub the event.

01:11nuclear attack in Hiroshima on August 6, 1945, during World War II.
01:17The two bombings killed more than 215,000 people, with thousands more dying later of
01:23injuries and radiation-related illness.
