The San Diego Zoo rolled out the red carpet for the first public to introduce two giant pandas, Yun Chuan & Xin Bao, gifted by the Chinese government whom was first to enter the U.S. in two decades.

00:06the name of Xin Bao, is made up of three jin, the character for gold. Her name
00:14means a treasure of prosperity and abundance, and we hope she will bring you
00:20good luck to California, to San Diego. We hope the arrival of the pandas will
00:28inject fresh impetus into exchanges between China and California, and help to
00:34stabilize the broader bilateral relationship as well.
00:48It is about people to people, not just panda to panda. At the end of the day,
00:52what this is really about is all of us. It's about the fact we share this same
00:58short moment in life. As the ambassador was saying, this is about exchange. This
01:04is about understanding. This is about something much deeper, much richer, than
01:10just the two beautiful pandas we celebrate. It's about celebrating our
