Nutrien Livestock reports a strong turnout at the August sale, with competitive bidding on Friesian steers and heifers.

00:05where Nutrien Livestock reports 1,261 cattle for the first of the August store sale fixture
00:12which consisted predominantly of Friesian steers and first cross steers and heifers.
00:16First cross steers were met with good competition from the gallery selling to a 20 to 40 cent a kilo
00:21deer a trend on last month's market for steers under 300 kilos topping at 330 cents a kilo.
00:29Heavy Friesian steers above 600 kilos were plentiful and a very good quality this month
00:34selling to a high of 228 cents a kilo. Medium Friesian steers from 400 to 500 kilos sold
00:41cheaper by 20 to 30 cents a kilo on last month's market despite the high quality of this month's
00:46drafts. Under 300 kilo Friesian steers realized the top of 232 cents a kilo gaining 10 to 15
00:52cents a kilo and a small presentation of first cross heifers sold from 450 to 1000 dollars a head.

01:10to top out at 296 cents a kilo would have averaged just shy 240. 350 to 400 kilos 296 cents a kilo

03:44There were some dairy steers these are jersey cross car steers and some brown swiss steers
03:49which actually sold to pretty good competition from the feeders. 500 kilos and above these made
03:55250 cents a kilo for a pretty well covered jersey cross steer. 400 to 500 kilos 200 to top out at
04:02288 cents a kilo would have averaged 240. The higher 288 there being for a pen of brown swiss
04:08steers. 300 to 400 kilos 240 200 300 kilos 134 to top at 200 cents a kilo would have averaged 160
04:17and a small jersey steer under 200 kilos realized 170 cents a kilo and as i said first cross
04:24heifers today 300 to 400 kilo first cross heifers sold from 775 to top out at a thousand dollars
04:31and the 200 to 300 kilos 450 to top out at 550 dollars a head. So all in all a pretty positive
04:38day here today at Boynup where we yarded a fair portion of cattle here. A reminder we will have
04:44another sale next Wednesday with a full 1400 beef yarding for you with steers, heifers
04:52and a good offering of cows and calves also here at 9 a.m on the 14th of August.
