00:00One of the things that really strikes you when you speak to farming families is not
00:04just their love for the environment and the land, in some cases that they've been working
00:08for generations, but it's also their passion about what the future looks like for their
00:12own kids.
00:13And if you're a mum and dad, many of whom we've spoken to today, you're worried about
00:18this attack on their industry.
00:20You're worried about the future for your kids and whether they're going to have the opportunity
00:24for them to work in ag or to take over family business.
00:27And it's not just the farmer and his or her family, it's also the local producers and
00:34it's where the farmers are spending money in the local communities that ultimately will
00:38be attacked under what Mr Albanese is proposing here to stop the industry.
00:44There's no alternative for these farmers.
00:47And I just want to say to all of my colleagues here, thank you very much.
00:51The Keep the Sheep campaign is running full steam ahead.
00:55It has to because it's important for WA and what now is obvious to all Australians is
01:02that the Albanese government continues to create great uncertainty across the economy.
01:07It's an industry that if they get rid of it, then it's really going to affect WA for one
01:11and all the smaller communities.
01:13It sort of fills me with confidence and I'm hoping they're not doing it just for the political
01:19side of things, to get votes.
01:22The Nationals and the Liberals, hopefully we've got the right people in the industry
01:28and hopefully they're going to turn it around.
01:31The main thing that I see is a problem with agriculture in general is there's a small
01:37part of society, 5% that has a very big voice and it would be nice to see agriculture come
01:45together in general and support positive imaging for agriculture.
01:51...to have the change here...
