00:00The Department of Labor and Employment is now urging the country to increase the 3.1% unemployment rate
00:09that the country recorded last June.
00:11According to Labor Secretary Bienvenido La Guesma,
00:15the government gave more jobs to some sectors
00:19which resulted in a decrease in the number of Filipinos who have no jobs.
00:24The Secretariat also said that the country's workforce increased to 577,000
00:32which added up to 346,000 women.
00:38La Guesma also recognized the continued increase in unemployment
00:43which reached 12.1%.
00:47The dollar is also contributing to the work of the Bayan Inter-Agency Council
00:51led by the National Economic Development Authority
00:55in the implementation of the National Economic Plan
00:59in accordance with the Directive of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.
01:03which is about quality, regularity, and decent work.
