00:00Do you know, as the event has got bigger and bigger, and it started with 13 restaurants,
00:06it's over 100 now, we sort of see it impact almost every sector of the city. It almost
00:11feels like there's a real buzz around the city when it's on. And I suppose if you think
00:15about it in the way that you would attend the event, you might get a taxi in, or you'd
00:21be on public transport, you might go for a drink beforehand, or you might combine it
00:24with a visit to the theatre or to the stand. We sort of see everything across those industries
00:29feel a bit of an uplift this week, which is really nice.
00:32Anyone's Restaurant Week has ran since 2012.
00:36It happens twice a year, and it's an excuse for people to come into the city, try a new
00:39restaurant, sort of dine out for a cut price deal.
00:42Restaurants, there are still some with availability. Some of them you'll find will be pretty busy,
00:46but generally they can squeeze you in, you know, as long as it's not table for six at
00:497.30. So the thing that I would say at this point is, find the restaurants that you want,
00:55maybe have one or two as a backup, but just give them a call and ask, you know, when can
00:58you fit us in, and as long as you're pretty flexible, you've got a good chance.
01:02Go for us in the summer, we tend to do a lot of focus on the school summer holidays, so
01:06the minute we've got a lot of things going on in Old Eldon Square, we have Screen on
01:09the Green, which is an outdoor cinema, which is free for people to attend, there's over
01:13100 movies there throughout the summer, and then we also have a new installation there
01:17called Tiny Toon, which is sort of like a mini version of the city for kids to go and
01:20play in. We have something in there called Play Rebellion too, so there's three areas
01:25in Old Eldon Square that you can go and sort of spend the day at. And then we also have
01:28activities on the Quayside, which includes sort of kayaking on the river, yoga, fitness
01:33classes, classes for kids, and all sorts of things. So yeah, there's lots going on, and
01:37then we have our Dragon Boat Race in September, and then we're straight into Christmas, so
01:40there's always heaps on.
01:41Some of the restaurants you can also expect to take part in any restaurant week are Indian
01:46Restaurant Daquala, Mexican Restaurant El Guabo, Hawaiian-inspired restaurant Hula Co, or Fat
01:53Hippo if you're in the mood for a burger. Of course, there are over 100 other options
01:57to choose from.
