Soosaimanicckam visited Bukit Aman and handed over a memorandum to the Inspector-General of Police demanding immediate investigation into the personnel responsible for the death of Soosaimanicckam during his training at the Lumut naval base in 2018.

00:00We are here this morning to hand over a memorandum to the police.
00:13This memorandum is addressed to the Chief of Police of the country.
00:17This is a memorandum of opposition.
00:24We state that there has been a failure by the police to take the inquest decision seriously
00:32which was given by the High Court of Ipoh in 2019-2024.
00:37As everyone is aware, the High Court of Ipoh in July 2019
00:44has stated that the death of Hussain Malikam
00:49was caused by TLDM officers who were conducting the training.
00:57The court has given a verdict of homicide.
01:00The family has filed a police report on 1st August 2024
01:07but we have not received any information
01:11on whether the inquest has been carried out, whether the report has been approved,
01:18whether the IGC, police and government inquests have been carried out.
01:25Are there any further actions taken by the High Court of Ipoh?
01:29One more thing that we ask the Chief of Police of the country to act or explain
01:34is why there has been a failure by the police.
01:41Since 2018, there have been police involved in the death of Hussain Malikam.
01:46Why was there a failure to carry out an inquiry?
01:50Why was the suicide bomber's body not found?
01:56A person who had no illness was released for training.
02:01How can a person like this die within a week?
02:05We want to carry out an inquiry but at the same time, we want an explanation.
02:10Hussain Malikam's death was a homicide.
02:14I want to give a memorandum to Bukit Aman.
02:18Please investigate the case from the previous report.
02:24No one called us.
02:26No one is above the law.
02:29Our family has been traumatised emotionally and mentally for the past 6-7 years.
02:36So, be transparent.
02:40We sent him to the Navy for training.
02:44We sent my son to the country for training.
02:50But how can we gain confidence if we continue to do this?
02:56We want justice.
02:59No one is above the law.
