00:29she won the all-around gold medal and became the first-ever Asian-American woman to take
00:33home the title. Needless to say, she was beyond honored to make history in this way, and her
00:37family could hardly find the words to express how proud they were.

00:49Despite winning big in her first Olympics, she didn't believe she'd return to the prestigious
00:53competition in 2024 after struggling with multiple kidney issues in the interim. She
00:58has yet to reveal exactly what her diagnosis was, but we do know that she had to step away
01:02from her training for a while. Whatever the case, it didn't matter in the long run. Not
01:06only did Lee return to the Olympics, but she's taking home awards yet again and sparking
01:10plenty of interest, not just in her prowess as an athlete, but in her beauty.
01:15In 2020, Lee posted some photos to Instagram showing her posing alongside her talented
01:19teammates. Captioned,

01:22One photo featured her pal, Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles. The ladies both looked stunning,
01:27fresh-faced, and mostly, if not entirely, without makeup. At the time, Lee was still
01:32a teenager, so she's grown up a lot since these photos. Still, it's easy to see that
01:36she's not just a natural on the balance beam, she's also a natural beauty.
01:40Lee rarely posts photos of herself sans makeup, which is, of course, relatable. She does,
01:45however, often sport pared-down makeup looks and has fully mastered the perfect, coveted
01:49no-makeup routine. These days, Lee seems to be regularly rocking eyelash extensions, which
01:54makes makeup routines quicker and easier, while also elevating makeupless looks. And
01:59she often sports slicked-back hair with a bit of lip gloss and contour to let her natural
02:03beauty shine through.
02:04When she's not competing as one of the best gymnasts in the world and taking home Olympic
02:08medals, Lee is also an influencer of sorts. She's active on her TikTok account and isn't
02:12afraid to show the world how she does her makeup. In May 2024, Lee paired up with beauty
02:17influencer Meredith Duxbury for a L'Oreal Paris partnership and talked through her own
02:21typical makeup needs with Duxbury.
02:23Despite how hard we may try, we all can't be as naturally talented, graceful, and gorgeous
02:28as Lee is. Still, there are plenty of ways we can take a page from her book. It's easy
02:32to get inspired by her resilience, her determination, and, of course, her makeup routine.
02:37Lee talked about how her usual days competing can sometimes last as long as 12 hours, so
02:41she loves a foundation that lasts in spite of sweat. She also touched up with some concealer
02:46and plenty of setting spray. Despite looking lovely with just a few products, she loves
02:50a full face, too. In June, she posted a TikTok showing her current makeup look compared to
02:55years ago. In the caption, she said,
02:57"'The glow up is insane, not gonna lie.'"
