00:00Who saves your yellow backside from certain destruction on a regular basis?
00:05You do.
00:06Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the greatest moments from Bikini Bottom's famous squirrel, Sandy Cheeks.
00:14I'm ready, I'm ready.
00:16No, you ain't!
00:19Number 10. Nuts at the Krusty Krab.
00:22Everyone knows what the staple item is at the Krusty Krab. It's the Krabby Patty, of course. In this episode though,
00:28Sandy brings her squirrel diet to the Bikini Bottom's most iconic restaurant.
00:32But I won't be needing the food.
00:34I brought a little something of my own from home, from home, from home, from home.
00:40Sandy's smokin' barbecue nuts!
00:42At first, Spongebob is clearly reluctant to try her homemade barbecue nuts inside the Krusty Krab,
00:48seemingly worried about how Mr. Krabs would react.
00:51But after Krabs gets the same Texas heat enjoyment that Spongebob did,
00:57he hires Sandy to whip up some smokin' barbecue nuts for the customers.
01:01Sandy, you're hired!
01:03To do what?
01:05To make those nuts a new restaurant, of course. They're delicious!
01:09And they love it. So much so that Krabs makes it the featured item, replacing the Krabby Patty.
01:15Who would have imagined that?
01:17Although extremely short-lived, Sandy's homemade snack certainly makes its mark.
01:22Sorry, cowboy Krabs. Looks like you have to find another way to make your dough.
01:28Number 9. The Waterless Tea Party
01:31Spongebob is no different from his fellow Bikini Bottom sea critters in the sense that he needs water.
01:37But after recently having met him, it doesn't seem Sandy has gotten the memo.
01:42Of course there's no water. Nothin' but air!
01:44Early in the series, Sandy invites Spongebob over to her tree dome home for some tea,
01:50so that they can get to know each other.
01:52The problem is, being a squirrel, her home is a land-like bubble.
01:56What's hilarious about this scene is just how long it takes for Sandy to realize that Spongebob desperately needs water.
02:03I don't need it.
02:07I need it!
02:11After Patrick enters the sea creature death bubble of sorts, she finally gives them what they need.
02:17This moment is pivotal in shaping the show's relationship dynamics between Sandy and her sea creature friends.
02:23If y'all needed water, you shoulda asked!
02:26Number 8. Stupidity Virus
02:29It can be tough being the only land animal in Bikini Bottom.
02:33There's perhaps no time throughout the series where Sandy faces as much prejudice and disrespect as she does in the Squirrel Jokes episode.
02:42It all starts after the Krusty Krab introduces a nightly comedy event.
02:46Spongebob bombs at first, but when he pokes fun at Sandy, he notices the crowd turn in his favor.
02:52Hey, why does it take more than one squirrel to change a light bulb?
02:55Why?
02:57Because! They're so darn stupid!
03:00So he takes the Squirrel Jokes even further.
03:02Spongebob, soaking in the popularity, keeps making Squirrel Jokes even after Sandy asks him not to.
03:09Howdy, y'all!
03:11How come it takes more than one squirrel to screw in a light bulb?
03:18During this challenging time for Sandy, others make fun of her while she's out in public.
03:23She then delivers an awesome line about the spread of stupidity.
03:27Don't stand too close to a squirrel, Billy! You'll catch it stupid!
03:30Okay, Ma.
03:32Stupidity isn't a virus, but it sure is spreading like one.
03:36Talk about a quotable moment.
03:38Number 7. The Search Party
03:41Cause for the next seven days, it's gonna be you, me, and these sweatpants!
03:46Extreme sports can, in fact, get a little too extreme.
03:50This is the case for Spongebob after Sandy and he participate in various dangerous activities together,
03:56before it's time for Sandy to go into hibernation.
03:59In this episode, Sandy shows us what a good friend is.
04:03First, she's just trying to have some competitive fun with her sponge buddy.
04:08But things go awry when she finds Spongebob's clothes, but he's nowhere to be found.
04:13He always folds his clothes before running around in the nude!
04:18Something terrible must have happened to him!
04:21Sandy then immediately calls for a search party.
04:24She searches and searches, and destroys and destroys, until she finally finds her friend.
04:31And of course, she wants Spongebob to get right back on the horse.
04:34This sequence exemplifies the type of friend Sandy is.
04:38Spongebob! I was so worried! I thought something terrible happened!
04:43Come on! There's just enough time to go Atom Smashing!
04:47Number 6. The Sea Creature Rescue
04:50Sea creatures and land creatures are different.
04:53That's just the way it is.
04:55That proves it!
04:56Proves what?
04:57That land critters are better than sea critters!
05:00When Sandy and her sea creature counterparts get into a debate over who's superior, things go south.
05:06The episode involves a test to see if Spongebob, Patrick, Squidward, and Mr. Krabs can remain on land for a full minute.
05:13Unless you can stay above water for one measly minute, you forfeit the contest and prove that land creatures are better than sea creatures!
05:21They do, but at the expense of getting attacked by seagulls.
05:25Sandy, though, emerges from the water to beat up the birds and save her friends.
05:29Holy guacamole! You can't eat my friends, you rats with wings!
05:40This is a great Sandy scene, especially given the context of their sea animals versus land animals argument.
05:47After she rescues them, she and Spongebob share a nice apology moment as well, while putting their differences aside.
05:54Three cheers for feeling sorry for ourselves!
05:57Hip hip!
05:58Hooray!
05:59Number 5. The hibernation attack.
06:02During hibernation, animals don't like to be woken up, so do not disturb!
06:08That means you, Spongebob.
06:11How Sandy gets so big during hibernation, we don't know.
06:15But Spongebob and Patrick see for themselves why it's best not to disturb her during the winter.
06:22After the two horse around in the snow with a role-playing game, their loud noises awaken Sandy.
06:28She then brutally tears Patrick's starfish head as she towers above him with burning rage.
06:38Which one of you fellers is the real Dirty Dan?
06:42It escalates from there.
06:44The scene ends with snow falling around the gravestones of Dirty Dan and Pinhead Larry.
06:50Sandy going rogue is one of the most memorable scenes of the entire series.
06:54We think Spongebob and Patrick learned their lesson.
06:57Let her hibernate in peace.
06:59Okay, Spongebob, you can be Dirty Dan. I just want to be Patrick.
07:03Number 4. Karate sauce.
07:06Who doesn't like a bit of competition?
07:08Sandy certainly does, and she puts that on full display during the Karate Choppers episode, in which she practices karate against Spongebob.
07:16I'm gonna get you tomorrow, Spongebob!
07:19That'll be the day.
07:21At one point, she uses a rather non-traditional karate move.
07:25After yanking Spongebob's tongue, she pulls out a bottle of hot sauce.
07:29What follows is a legendary moment in which the face of the man who voices Spongebob appears on the hot sauce drop.
07:36By the powers of naughtiness, I command this particular drop of hot sauce to be really, really hot.
07:46After Spongebob surrenders to Sandy, she proceeds to chug the bottle.
07:51But the fight's not over, or so Spongebob thought.
07:54This Sandy moment is even more notable given that her karate jousts with Spongebob play a significant role in his temporary firing from the Krusty Krab.
08:03You're fired!
08:05Huh? Fired?
08:11Eh? Spongebob?
08:13Uh-oh.
08:20Number 3. The Alaskan Bull Worm
08:23It was an Alaskan Bull Worm!
08:28After the feared Alaskan Bull Worm becomes the talk of the town, Sandy volunteers to take it on.
08:34She sure is brave. But in this case, Sandy doesn't quite know what she's getting herself into.
08:39Nope! I'm gonna take that spineless critter down for nothing, cause this is personal!
08:44Look! My tail's gone!
08:46Ooh! Karma must've got it while I had my back turned! The coward!
08:51Spongebob tries to convince her to reconsider, but she has her mind firmly set on defeating the beast.
08:57Later in the episode, thinking she's done that, Spongebob explains that all Sandy did was beat up the worm's tongue.
09:04The Alaskan Bull Worm happens to be much bigger than she anticipated.
09:09Sandy's ensuing reaction as the screen displays the full size of the enormous worm is an awesome moment in the series.
09:19Oh! This is the tongue, and the whole thing is the worm.
09:28Run for your life!
09:31That's then followed by a classic chase scene, in which Sandy ends up saving herself and Spongebob.
09:37Number 2. Spongebob and Sandy's First Encounter.
09:41How could we not include where it all began?
09:44Take that, ya sorry old clam! Y'all need to learn some manners!
09:51After Spongebob sees a squirrel fighting a clam, he cheers on the land animal and then tries his best to help when he notices she's in trouble.
09:59Clearly the squirrel's karate skills are far superior to Spongebob's.
10:04Hold on there, little square dude!
10:07After she kicks the clam into oblivion, the two bond over their love of karate.
10:12That's when Spongebob, as well as we audience members, meet Sandy.
10:17Spongebob responds to Sandy breaking a massive rock with a unique and perhaps unexpected trick of his own.
10:24From there, it's evident that a friendship has formed, and that Sandy would go on to be an important character in the series.
10:30Hey, you like karate too!

10:48Number 1. The Decision Between Bikini Bottom and Texas.
10:52Sandy is a proud Texan, so it's only fitting she'd get homesick at some point in the series.
10:58It reaches a point where she's ready to leave Bikini Bottom and head home.
11:02In fact, she's already on the bus when Patrick's Texas insult prompts her return.
11:08What's so great about dumb old Texas?
11:12What did you say?
11:15Texas is dumb?
11:17Don't you dare take the name of Texas in vain!
11:20Spongebob and Patrick continue bad-mouthing her home, so Sandy angrily chases after them.
11:26At this point, we don't know whether this means Sandy is staying in Bikini Bottom,
11:30or her departure has simply been delayed.
11:33But after she reaches the Krusty Krab, she finds her fellow Bikini Bottom citizens waiting for her with a party.
11:39Happy, y'all!
11:42Wh-what's this?
11:44It's a party! For you!
11:47What follows is one of the series' most heartwarming moments.
11:51Sandy explains what home really means, and decides to stay in Bikini Bottom.
11:56Home is where you're surrounded by other critters that care about ya.
12:02Huh? Duh.
12:04What am I doing? I've been home all along, and it took me till just now to realize it.
12:09Let us know in the comments which Sandy Cheeks moment was your favorite.
12:14Think you can win a fair race in that clunky tin tube?
12:18Why don't you ask my beehind? That is, if you can catch it!
