00:06Puts the end on their pre-season preparations for next season.
00:11Not much to discuss in terms of the actual contest. Goal-scoring chances were few and far between.
00:18Grant McCann we spoke to afterwards was pretty clear that it was all about the minutes in the legs for the players today.
00:26In terms of the actual game there was a handful of chances of that. I think Rotherham hit the bar with a free kick.
00:31Donny had a goal disallowed, Kyle Hurst. Other than that it was standard, very stereotypical, pre-season fodder really.
00:42But it's a clean sheet. It's more minutes in the legs.
00:45The good thing is that the squad is fully fit as well now, McCann said afterwards.
00:50Only Ben Close wasn't involved today because he's obviously missed quite a bit of time as he recovers.
00:55But he's back in training which is good. Clifton got out there, Harry Clifton got 30 minutes.
01:00Sam Westbrook as well got 30 minutes.
01:03So in terms of numbers, it's said they're always looking but it's hard to integrate someone at this stage in pre-season.
01:11So I think they're going to pretty much go with what they've got at the minute.
01:15The only news about George Miller, a few people asking about him post-match, I asked McCann what's the situation with him,
01:26why wasn't he in the squad today and he said that it's given him permission to talk to another club.
01:31So it wouldn't elaborate on whether that's a loan or a permanent.
01:35I would imagine it's probably a permanent move and he's in the last series contract so a loan deal wouldn't really make sense.
01:43So yeah, it's one of them. I think he's just been bumped down the pecking order which is rough on him because he's...
01:53But obviously you've got Ironside, you've got Sharp and you've got a lot more attacking options down the wings as well.
01:57So he'll probably struggle to get into the squad really at this moment in time.
02:03So yeah, be interested to see what happens with that and with George Miller.
02:07But yeah, it's obviously a countdown now to next Saturday.
02:10Atherington at home that first game and Rovers' pre-season has gone pretty well I think.
02:15Only one defeat and I know it's not all about results but they scored seven goals against championship teams.
02:21They've held a really good Rotherham team that's going to be right up there in League One today.
02:25So yeah, I think all in all it's been a really beneficial pre-season.
02:30The squad's been sorted nice and early and as I say, the big thing is that there's no injuries at present other than Ben Clough.
02:37But as I say, he's on the way back.
