OpenAI Co-Founder John Schulman Leaves OpenAI to Join Rival AI Safety Startup Anthropic

John Schulman, a co-founder of OpenAI, announced he will leave the company to join rival Anthropic, an AI safety startup. At OpenAI, Schulman worked on refining models and led the post-training team. He was recently put in charge of a safety committee. Schulman said he wants to focus more on AI alignment and do hands-on technical work again.
