00:00All right, here was D'Amico Ryans.
00:02We saw in the first game, many of the ones,
00:05many of the two deep did not play at all
00:08against the Bears in that Hall of Fame game.
00:11He quickly, Monday, for those of you just joining us,
00:14lets you know what's going to happen in this game
00:17coming up when they face the Pittsburgh Steelers
00:21as they're practicing in Ohio.
00:23He lets it be known what his first unit's gonna do.
00:28When it comes to the snaps and preseason,
00:30everybody's trying to figure out.
00:32Some teams don't play starters, some play.
00:34I truly believe that a guy needs to get reps
00:38in a preseason game, right?
00:39We don't go to the ground, as you see,
00:41the way we practice.
00:42We try to keep guys up and be as safe as possible
00:44in practice.
00:45I think everybody needs that opportunity
00:47to go to the ground a couple times in a game.
00:50Just get up, dust yourself off, and know you're good.
00:53I'm okay.
00:54I can go to the ground and get up,
00:56so you just have to go through and play live reps
00:59of football before live action comes in September.
01:02So, you'll see our ones go out and get reps
01:04this week versus Pittsburgh.
01:06All right, as you said, there, right there,
01:08the statement there, D'Amico Ryan's from the head coach
01:10himself, that the ones will get reps.
01:14And Clint, how many reps are you thinking?
01:17Is this a one series and out type of deal?
01:20How many reps would you say you think the ones
01:23should get, CJ and the ones, and then that defense as well?
01:26We talk about this every year, obviously.
01:28I think it just depends on what the drives look like.
01:31You go out there and have two solid drives,
01:32even if they end in punts.
01:33If you go out there and it's six to eight play drives,
01:35and then you get another six to eight to 10 play drive,
01:38regardless of what happens at the end of it,
01:40I mean, you've got some good run.
01:41You've executed as a unit.
01:44You've communicated well.
01:45Your offensive line has got good work together.
01:47You're obviously, your voice and the cadence
01:50is being heard, and at that point, you've done your job.
01:56Now, you go out there and you go three and out
01:57a couple of times, and then I'd imagine there's probably
01:59four drives in the holster for these guys.
02:02So, look, I think it all depends on
02:06what the drives look like.
02:07I'd say 15 to 20 snaps for the starter.
02:11Really?
02:12Okay, see, I like at least two series.
02:16To me, I want you to, because sometimes,
02:18and I wouldn't be surprised if we do see this,
02:21that guys will play one series and come out.
02:24I like to, all right, hey, we played one series.
02:27Let's go in center and talk about what we looked at,
02:30and then go out at least again,
02:33especially for the offense.
02:34Go out at least again to run against this defense
02:38one more time.
02:39So, to me, it's at least two series.
02:43Even if the first one, even if the first one,
02:44they do an eight to 10 play drive,
02:46I want you to go back out and have that,
02:48and have that happen.
02:49Yeah, look, I think, to your point,
02:51I think what you want to at least accomplish
02:52is some communication on the sideline.
02:54You want to talk about what's going on on the field.
02:56You want to make a couple of quick adjustments.
02:58What does that look like?
02:58What does the communication look like?
03:00And go back out there
03:01and see if the guys can execute it, right?
03:02But when it's all said and done,
03:04if you go three and out twice,
03:05you didn't get a chance to accomplish any of that,
03:07because you didn't do anything good, right?
03:08So, I think, I mean, maybe 12 plays.
03:11I would say 15 to 20 plays, though,
03:13is what I would get in the next two games.
03:14You got Friday and Saturday.
03:16Yeah, because I don't think they're going to play
03:17the last one.
03:17So, to me, I think you've got two preseason games here
03:20to get to work in.
03:21Well, you got, I mean, the last one is going to be,
03:23there may be a few starters that,
03:25when I say starters, guys that end up starting
03:27that maybe you just want to see more out of.
03:29That decision hasn't been completely made yet.
03:31You never know what's going to happen
03:32at that interior offensive line.
03:33We're high on them right now,
03:34but you never know exactly what's going to happen there.
03:37When you look at any tight end,
03:39not named, Dalton Schultz, I think, right now is,
03:43I mean, Jordan's going to get a little,
03:44Brevin Jordan's going to get a little bit of love,
03:45but I think he's got to make some plays.
03:48He's got to get some work in.
03:50Potentially, a few guys, maybe that last week,
03:52just don't make it,
03:53because they still have to make some decisions,
03:54but I think the bulk of the work gets done
03:56in week two and week three, this Friday, next Saturday.
03:59I completely agree with that.
