00:00The driver here is someone West Midlands Police describe as really violent and who preyed
00:18on the vulnerable and took advantage of it.
00:21The footage shows him dangerously weaving in and out of traffic but it's what he did
00:26beforehand that prompted the police pursuit.
00:30The thug stole a 70-year-old woman's bag in the street that resulted in her breaking a
00:37hip after being dragged to the ground.
00:40Elsewhere he broke into the home of another 70-year-old woman and cut her phone line so
00:46she couldn't call for help.
00:49There he stole bank cards and cash.
00:57The driver also stabbed another woman several times in her hand as he tried to cut the strap
01:01of her handbag while she was walking down the street.
01:09He also tricked his way into the house of a vulnerable man who previously suffered a
01:13stroke by asking for a glass of water before stealing the man's bank cards.
01:20But the homeowner's son spotted the thug leaving the house, recognised him as previously having
01:25done roofing work at the property and was later able to identify him.
01:32A day later he stole a Fiat 500 but police were able to trace it due to an in-car tracker.
01:39The driver pled guilty to five burglaries, three robberies, an attempted robbery and
01:45aggravated vehicle taking.
01:48He was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
02:03Six gang members who ran one of Britain's largest drug rings have been jailed for smuggling
02:09£1.59 billion worth of cocaine in boxes of frozen chicken.
02:15The gang used a warehouse in Redditch to store the cocaine.
02:20They were part of a criminal network which imported 15 tonnes of high purity cocaine
02:24from a Mexican cartel and distributed it around the UK.
02:29They worked for a kingpin, hiding the drugs in boxes of frozen chicken in what is thought
02:34to be the largest drugs operation in England and Wales.
02:39Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor for CPS Yorkshire and Humberside said the money-minded criminals
02:44were able to sell an extortionate amount of drugs.
02:49The gang's operation initially unravelled when police raided a home in Leeds where they
02:53discovered blocks of cocaine with an estimated street value of £14 million and crystal meth
03:00with an estimated street value of £4.95 million in a locked room.
03:06They also found other paraphernalia used to repackage the drugs, cash, bank cards and
03:12passports.
03:21This is the moment a fugitive tries to hide in a hot tub after leading police officers
03:25on a death-defying 80mph chase the wrong way down a dual carriageway.
03:31He clambered into the jacuzzi as armed cops tracked him down to a family's back garden.
03:37Prior to that, he was one of three thugs who led officers on a high-speed chase after they
03:42left a man for dead in a savage assault.
03:47Police say the trio drove the wrong way round a roundabout.
03:56They then drove the wrong way at more than 80mph on a dual carriageway, forcing other
04:02vehicles to swerve to avoid collision.
04:11Several minutes later, the trio turned around on the carriageway and drove the other way.
04:18Next, police officers caught up with them in a residential area where the trio tried
04:23to escape capture.
04:28One of the thugs tried to flee through some gardens and, as we've already said, he tried
04:36to dodge the police by hiding inside a hot tub.
04:42But that didn't work out and soon the law caught up to him.
04:46Two of the trio, including the hot tub thug, were convicted for attempted murder while
04:52another was guilty of GBH with intent.
04:57They were sentenced to a combined 57 years.

05:16concealing large amounts of cocaine and cheese.
05:21Lancashire police raided a unit at the Old Fire Station in Blackburn and found a £17.2
05:27million haul of cocaine.
05:30The unit belonged to a dealer who had hidden the large amounts of cocaine inside blocks
05:35of Gouda cheese.
05:38Police found 217 kilos of cocaine, some hidden in the cheese and other blocks in black bin
05:43bags ready to be handed to couriers.
05:47Research shows that between September 2022 and May 2023, the dealer agreed to sell over
05:532,000 kilos of cocaine, which was worth over £17 million.
06:00The dealer and the courier were jailed for a combined total of 43 and a half years.
06:14This is the moment two thieves stole a £60,000 diamond ring in Sussex.
06:21Footage shows how they asked to see the 18 carat gold and diamond ring.
06:29They distracted the store owner and dashed to a getaway car.
06:36However, with the help of the public, police were able to trace two vehicles.
06:45This car was sighted driving at high speed on the M23 but was stopped and another vehicle
06:53was halted in Surrey.
06:56One of the thieves admitted theft and driving while disqualified and was jailed for two
07:01years and four months.
07:04The other admitted to theft and was jailed for a year.
07:20Dramatic police footage shows the moment officers raided the homes of an organised crime gang
07:25supplying crack cocaine and heroin.
07:29200 officers from Cheshire Police, with support from Merseyside Police, raided 14 addresses
07:34across Runcorn, Wednes and Merseyside.
07:39Police say the defendants were identified following a number of inquiries, including
07:43Telecoms Analysis, CCTV and ANPR, during an investigation that took place from August
07:512021 until September 2022.
07:56Six men and two women were arrested and charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.
08:02Five men and one woman were sentenced to over 20 years in total, while the remaining two
08:07received suspended sentences.
08:20Next up we're in Chathamken, where a County Police canine has followed the scent of something
08:24to a shower wall inside a bathroom.
08:27It must be brewing up some stink as our pal here is getting very excited.
08:32And for good reason, because behind the wall is a secret chamber stuffed with cigarettes.
08:40This footage was shot during a series of raids in Chatham, from which police recovered 145,000
08:45illegal cigarettes.
08:54Astonishing footage shows the moment police officers catch a major drugs gang in the middle
09:22The 21-strong group used encrypted EncroChat phones to arrange the ordering of 100 kilograms
09:32of high-purity cocaine from Dubai.
09:35Over a 14-month period, the gang smuggled cocaine into the UK, worth a staggering £165
09:42million.
09:43In January 2022, 18 people were jailed for a combined total of 167 years for their part

10:36A separate hearing found another gang member who benefited by approximately £160,000,
10:42with an available amount of around £140,000.
10:46He and his younger brother were taxi drivers who couriered cash and Class A drugs across
10:51the country.
10:52One was jailed for seven years and nine months for his links to the drugs empire.
10:56The other earned over £250,000, with an available amount determined at around £169,000.
