L-L-L-L-A (Los Angeles Is Hard To Say) - Mello Larks & Ramey Idriss Quintette (1948)

  • el mes pasado
"L-L-L-L-A (Los Angeles Is Hard To Say)" is performed by the Mello-Larks with the Ramey Idriss Quintette.

Song by George Tibbles & Ramey Idriss.

The vocal group called the Mello Larks was active from 1946 to 1960. The original lineup (for United Artist recordings) = Tommy Hamm, Bob Smith, Jack Bierman, Ginny O'Connor.

Ginny was previously with Mel Tormé's Mel-Tones.

Later female leads were Joan Loree (1949-51), Toni Southern (1951-52), Jamie Dina (1952-58), and Adele Castle (1958-60).

The Mello-Larks broke up in 1960.

Ramez Idriss was an American songwriter and musician. He was best known for a Woody Woodpecker song. He was born on September 11, 1911, in New York City. He died on February 5, 1971, in Los Angeles. The so-called Ramey Idriss Quintette was probably not a group that performed on a regular basis. It is more likely this name was given to musicians in the recording studio on that particular day.
