00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. spent yet another busy presidential schedule working from home.
00:06First, there was the oath-taking of close to 150 new government career executives,
00:12followed by the recognition ceremony for the presidential Gawad CES award recipients,
00:18and capped by a courtesy call from a visiting foreign dignitary from Germany on a three-day visit to the country.

00:30President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. led the awarding of the presidential Gawad career,
00:35executive service, and the oath-taking of the newly appointed career executive service officers, or CESO.
00:41In his speech, President Marcos recognized the achievements of career executives.
00:46He also called on them to be continuing partners for a more progressive country.
00:50So we continue to strengthen the CES.
00:53This year, we were able to increase the CES occupancy rate from 44% to 50%
00:59from the previous years.
01:01This is part of our target under the Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028.
01:13So to our newly appointed CESOs,
01:16as you join this esteemed group and reaffirm your duties to provide quality and faithful service to the people,
01:24I would like to remind you that you have also taken on the Herculean task
01:28of upholding the highest ethical standards in your career wherever it is that you are serving.
01:35The President urged civil servants to ensure the continuity of government programs.
01:40He encouraged them to espouse patriotism, excellence, integrity, and spirituality.
01:46President Marcos also warmly welcomed German Federal Minister of Defense Boris Pistorius
01:53in a courtesy call at Malacanang earlier today.
01:55Pistorius was accompanied by the German Ambassador to the Philippines.
02:00In his message, President Marcos emphasized the longstanding friendship
02:04between the Philippines and Germany and their cooperation in many aspects.
02:08President Marcos thanked Germany for its continued support to the country.
02:12Minister Pistorius is in the Philippines for a three-day visit.
02:16This visit is part of his tour of the Indo-Pacific region.
02:20He first went to Hawaii before coming to South Korea and the Philippines.
02:24Minister Pistorius thanked the President for the warm welcome in Malacanang.
02:28He described his meetings with Filipino officials as very trustful and very candid.
02:33He said the German government is ready to cooperate with the Philippines.
02:38The diplomatic ties between the Philippines and Germany were established on October 8, 1954.
