00:30heritage and iconic motorcycles has relaunched one of their offerings again, the SD Adventure.
00:36But before I get to what's new on this motorcycle, welcome to Drivespark, I'm Vedant Johari and
00:42now let's see what all comes fresh on this brand new adventure.
01:00So now, everything new on the SD Adventure is the engine, the sump guard, the whole exhaust
01:21system and even the mainframe.
01:23Now let's go a little more in detail, what we get new and how it benefits the overall
01:28performance of this motorcycle.
01:30So first off the engine, well the engine that we get on the new ESG Adventure is known as
01:35the Alpha 2 engine, it's been redesigned from the previous version to give out less vibrations
01:40and overall a much better feel while riding and trust me, that is the case.
01:45So this engine produces 29.6 PS and 29.8 Nm, giving us fairly enough grunt to get around
01:53where we want and even tackle some brilliant off-road terrains with ease.
01:57So everything else about the engine, well, we get a slip and assist clutch, benefiting
02:01us when we really need to downshift hard, we also get better airflow through the engine,
02:06we get better gear ratios, much more easier to work with while riding and on top of that
02:10we get a new exhaust sound.
02:12Now that's also because of the exhaust system, more on that a little later.
02:16Also the engine capacity that we get on this adventure is 334cc.
02:21Well another new feature we get on the ESG Adventure is the exhaust system, it's a central
02:25exhaust system which basically improves the airflow and overall performance of this and
02:30it also gets a new exhaust note.
02:32Now a quick look of that, also it is worth to mention that we have removed the DB killer
02:37from our motorcycle, so the sounds may vary a little bit.
02:51So what do you think of that, tell us in the comments below.
02:53So now moving on from the exhaust system, we also get a new frame.
02:58The main frame of the ESG Adventure has been redesigned for better agility, ergonomics
03:03and again, overall ride experience.
03:06Now as we all know the main frame does play a huge role in how a motorcycle performs,
03:11so now that ESG has worked on it from their previous adventure, makes this a whole lot
03:15more fun to ride, especially on trails.
03:18Now other than that, to also enhance the whole off-road ability of this, we have got a new
03:24sump guard or bash plate, whatever you guys want to call it.
03:27Now the sump guard again has been designed to be a little more stronger, a little more
03:30durable than what we had previously.
03:33Also as this motorcycle is more off-road friendly, is more trail friendly, we do need something
03:40protecting us to avoid any mishaps or damage to our main engine block.
03:45Finally, another new feature we get are the colour options on this.
03:49We get four colour options, one is this beautiful, beautiful white and black dual-tone scheme
03:55that we get.
03:56Honestly, it's my favourite.
03:57On top of that, we get a very retro style, matte finish maroon and black, that also is
04:03beautiful to look at.
04:04On top of that, we get a grey and a black coloured ESG Adventure.
04:11So what else do we get on the Adventure that makes it stand out amongst others in the segment?
04:15Well, it gets the best in-class ground clearance and that is 220mm.
04:21Now as I said a little earlier, ESD has redesigned this motorcycle to be a lot more off-road
04:26friendly and it clearly shows.
04:28Even the whole ergonomics and the whole ride experience really proves that point to us.
04:33So on top of that, we get a new display with new tech such as Bluetooth connectivity, we
04:38also get ride modes, we also get dual-channel ABS, I'll talk about the ABS in a bit, but
04:43on top of that, we get a negative LCD display, it's not the best display, however, very easy
04:49to look at, also the display is adjustable, you heard that right, the display is adjustable.
04:53So we have these two knobs on either side of the display and all we gotta do is loosen
04:58it up and adjust it based on our preference.
05:01So we can either go a little lower if you're a shorter rider or a little higher if you
05:09are a taller rider.
05:11Now that is a super unique feature which we also saw on the previous Adventure.
05:20Now apart from the display, what other tech features do we get?
05:24We get an onboard charger, yes we do, we get a Type-C socket and a regular Type-A socket.
05:30This adds a whole lot of convenience especially when you're out for a long rides and for
05:34a weekend excursions, which is what this motorcycle is meant for.
05:39Now moving on, we get a six-speed gearbox on the Adventure with a slip and assist clutch.
05:47When we're riding it off-road, when we're especially on sludgy surfaces and slushy surfaces
05:52like how we are riding today, you can really drop your gears without the rear wheel locking
05:56up and dancing around.
05:58The slip and assist clutch will play its role in modulating our clutch in giving us that
06:04control on our rear wheel, basically making it a whole lot more friendlier for a rider
06:08to actually ride this motorcycle.
06:10And then we also get dual-channel ABS on the ESD Adventure.
06:16Now based on our riding modes, our ABS does change.
06:19So for example, we get three riding modes on this ESD Adventure, which is rain, off-road
06:24and road.
06:25So when we're riding on rain and road, we have our front and rear ABS enabled, however
06:30the moment we push it into off-road, that's when our rear ABS stops and that's when this
06:37true potential of this motorcycle comes out.
06:40That's when we really feel what the ESD Adventure has been designed for.
06:44So for example, the whole ergonomics of this has been designed to stay upright no matter
06:51what.
06:52Yes, a bike is made to do that, however, the Adventure takes it to another level.
06:56So when we were riding it and we felt the rear wheel start to get loose, we just had
07:01to give a little throttle and modulate our front brake to just get the bike back up straight.
07:07Now that is really good, especially for a motorcycle, which is in sort of the entry-level
07:13class, maybe the mid-segment class.
07:20Now let's look at the ergonomics of the ESD Adventure.
07:25So, I'm 6 foot 1 and as you can see, I'm fairly comfortable on this motorcycle.
07:30I don't feel too small or too big for it.
07:33I can rest my legs flat on the ground whenever I have to.
07:37Also the whole rider's triangle does make you feel like you're actually riding an off-road
07:42motorcycle, an Adventure motorcycle, as the handlebars aren't too low like how we've seen
07:46on some others, nor is it too upright to make it a very aggressive motorcycle.
07:51Also, when we want, we have place to come in front and move back based on our terrain
07:56and based on the situation we find ourself in.
08:01Now overall, it's an extremely comfortable motorcycle.
08:04The display is right in field's view, the windscreen does cover us a bit, so not a lot
08:10of windblast, however, we do feel one as there isn't a lot going on in front.
08:15Also the tank isn't too bulky, nor is it too narrow, we have enough place to grip our legs
08:20and even for when we want to stand and ride the motorcycle.
08:24We have place to keep our tanks, we have grip on the side of our legs on this part right
08:29here.
08:30So all in all, it's a very, very well positioned motorcycle and super comfortable to ride.
08:38So now coming to the price point of the Yes, the Adventure.
08:41It is only available in one variant, however, there are four different colours to choose
08:45from, so prices vary based on the colour options we get.
08:49So now the most affordable option of the Yes, the Adventure is the black colour option that
08:53we get and that is priced at Rs. 2,09,990.
08:58Now the most expensive version of the Yes, the Adventure is this one that we have with
09:03us, the white colour and this is priced at Rs. 2,19,900 ex-showroom.
09:10So now in terms of value for money, we do get a digital cluster, we do get a charger,
09:14better mileage, unimproved exhaust system, unimproved engine.
09:19So overall, it's just an improved motorcycle and a better motorcycle.
09:24I hope you guys enjoyed this video, don't forget to like, comment and subscribe.
09:28My name is Vedant Johari, signing out.
