00:32The President instructed the members of the media

00:35to serve as a guide for the public to know about the latest events in the country.

00:40He also added that the officials of the government should monitor the activities of the media.

00:48You likewise help in holding public officers, including myself, accountable for our actions,

00:54recognizing our work when we do well, and pointing out shortcomings

01:00whenever our work does not measure up to our sworn duties.

01:05At the same time, the media was instructed by the Executive Board to serve as a guide for the government

01:10to help the public to know the truth

01:14and not, especially when fake news and artificial intelligence have already spread.

01:19I also trust that you will continue upholding the integrity of your profession by ensuring

01:24that practitioners live up to the highest ethical and professional standards of journalism.

01:31Let your commitment to responsible, ethical, and fair reporting be the guide

01:37in inspiring your colleagues and inspiring journalists to follow your footsteps in the Fourth Estate.

01:49for media practitioners through the Presidential Task Force on Media Security.
