00:00As part of the discussions in the hearing of the Camera,

00:03regarding the possession of drugs and illegal land purchases in the Philippines by foreigners,

00:11Tina Pangaliban-Perez reported.

00:16A matrix was shown in the camera of the possession of drugs

00:20and illegal land purchases in some provinces.

00:24The matrix was formed based on the information found in the camera

00:28from the 3.6 billion pesos that were issued by Shabu in Mexico, Pampanga in 2023.

00:36Some incorporators asked the owner of the warehouse where the drugs were issued

00:44like Pharmaly, which was involved in overpricing medical supplies to the government during the COVID pandemic.

00:51The answer to Pharmaly is Michael Young.

00:54There seems to be a link regarding the possession of drugs by these companies.

01:03The House Committee on Dangerous Drugs issued an arrest order

01:07against Michael Young because of his involvement in the committee's invitations.

01:12Young's lawyer, Atty. Raymond Fortun, refused to comment on the matrix.

01:18The GMA Integrated News is also trying to get a reaction from those who were mentioned.

01:23Fernandez also said that Michael Young's brother was a transaction of suspended Bamban mayor, Alice Go.

01:30Based on what I saw and my appreciation of the evidence,

01:34I think it's a money laundering scheme of drug syndicates,

01:39the ones who pass through Pogo.

01:42These issues are also connected to the investigation by the House Committee on Public Accounts

01:48that it is illegal for Chinese nationals to buy land in Pampanga to run Pogo sites.

01:55It was established also that those so many hectares of land are being bought by the different corporations

02:04whose incorporators are proven to be Chinese nationality.

02:10We all know that there's a constitutional prohibition for foreigners to own land in our country.

02:15We saw that someone enabled the sale to the foreigners.

02:21Allegedly, this is assisted by no less than the LGU.

02:26Some lawmakers clarified that not all names in the matrix are connected to illegal activities.

02:32Their investigation is ongoing to find out who is really involved.

02:38Along with the possible legislation that will result in these investigations,

02:43there will be restrictions on obtaining Filipino birth certificates, Filipino passports, and buying land.
