00:00Marlins made a crap ton of trade yesterday.
00:03Woo.
00:04Busy.
00:05Busy day for Marcos.
00:06So Marcos is playing first base?
00:08Yes.
00:09I will be starting this weekend, guys.
00:11Do you think Jake Berger is afterwards?
00:13He goes, not me?
00:14I was wondering.
00:15I saw the name.
00:16Really holding on to that name?
00:19He goes, nah, Jake.
00:21You're affordable.
00:22Oh.
00:23You're under that control, Jake Berger.
00:29Although Jake Berger does look like he's been in the league for like 17 years, right?
00:32He does.
00:33He's the oldest looking 26-year-old you've seen.
00:36Face of the franchise.
00:38For now.
00:39For now.
00:40Because the face of the franchise is in New York right now and he looks like the greatest
00:43baseball player we've ever seen.
00:45Jazz Chisholm is hitting the cover off the ball.
00:49It's like happy life, happy wife, right?
00:52Yeah.
00:53Happy winning team.
00:55I'm happy.
00:56He's out there.
00:57He's out there.
00:58He's hitting.
00:59He's doing for funsies.
01:00He's like taking Aaron Judge's bat and hitting home runs.
01:05He's just messing around and he's got four home runs in two days.
01:09So yesterday he had a huge go-ahead home run for the Yankees.
01:14Put them up 5-4.
01:15They win in extras.
01:17He's having the time of his life.
01:19Can I just say this?
01:21Swung on.
01:22Hit deep to right.
01:23Back goes Castellanos at the wall.
01:26Oh, baby, another one.
01:29Adios amigo.
01:32Smooth Jazz does it again.
01:36His fourth home run of the series.
01:39Jazz Chisholm Jr. is a Bronx bomber from the Bahamas.
01:44Strong pitch.
01:45Swung on.
01:46Hit deep to right.
01:48Back goes Castellanos at the wall.
01:51Oh, baby, another one.
01:53Adios amigo.
01:56Well, don't they have that short porch and right for you.
02:01They're in Philly, though.
02:02But yes, Philly is a little league park for sure.
02:04You can hit some bombs, but I mean, you know him.
02:06You don't hit some cheapies.
02:07You have jazz.
02:08Oh, no.
02:09He get his money's worth.
02:10But it's amazing that every player that gets traded from the Marlins
02:22mysteriously becomes really good when they leave.
02:25Why is this kind of stunk up the joint?
02:29Yeah.
02:30All right.
02:31Okay.
02:32But I was asked because obviously I have a lot of Yankees fans in my
02:35life and they're all asking me and I just had this feeling.
02:38I'm like, I feel like he's going to be awesome for you guys because
02:41he is a show pony.
02:42Like he.
02:43He.
02:44I feel like New York when the lights are brighter.
02:47I feel like jazz doesn't plays better.
02:49I feel like he's going to be.
02:51He's going to be the toast of that town and good for him.
02:56You know, he's kicking ass.
02:57Now.
02:58Yesterday, the Marlins went out and they made a lot of trades.
03:01Trevor Rogers.
03:04He's gone.
03:05Went to the Orioles.
03:06This seems to be the trade.
03:07Everybody's most fired up about.
03:09They get Connor Norby and Kyle Stowers.
03:13But Trevor Rogers, you know, he's not regained the form that he was
03:17when he was an all star.
03:18So that seems to be the trade.
03:20Everybody's most pumped about the trade.
03:21Tanner Scott for a boatload of pitchers.
03:23A lot of top prospects from the Padres.
03:26Josh Bell went to the Diamondbacks.
03:29Brazoban went to the Mets for Wilfredo Lara.
03:33Old goose liver.
03:34JT Chargois.
03:35He went to the Seattle Mariners for Will Schoenberg.
03:41And then it sounds like we're the farm system for the for Major
03:44League Baseball.
03:45And then Brian de la Cruz went to Pittsburgh for right-handed
03:48pitcher.
03:49John shook.
03:50Shim.
03:52And Garrett Forrester.
03:54Wow.
03:55There you go.
03:56Those two names don't go together.
03:57Nope.
03:59Forrester seems like a simple name.
04:02Peter Bendix did not have a press conference.
04:04He just put out a statement.
04:05Oh, great.
04:06Oh, yeah.
04:10If you talk, then you got to answer questions.
04:12He's, uh, he said after a busy trade deadline with many tough
04:15decisions, we're excited about the layers of talent joining our
04:18organization.
04:20Our goal is to be consistently, uh, be a consistently competitive
04:23team with talented and promising players.
04:26We've acquired.
04:27We're confident that we're moving in the right direction and
04:30building a deeper, stronger organization.
04:33We thank our fans for their continued support and share their goal
04:37of being a contending team that they can be proud of.
04:40Um, he hasn't been here.
04:41He hasn't been here that long.
04:43No, this guy's a weasel.
04:44I can't wait.
04:45No, no.
04:46Oh, I'll say that.
04:47You don't know that he's a weasel.
04:48Here's what I will say.
04:51Yeah.
04:53You can tell he hasn't been here that long with that last statement.
04:57Yeah.
04:58Yeah.
04:59Asking thank you for your patience.
05:01We share your patience and I remind you to enjoy SpongeBob night,
05:04which is last time.
05:06Last time we went to a game.
05:07I yelled that time.
05:08From home plate.
05:09And he was in left field.
05:11Throwback night coming up as well.
05:13Get me a beer.
05:15All right.
05:17Strike two.
05:19So there you go.
05:23Marlins.
05:24I mean, he was busy.
05:26He definitely didn't sit on his hands.
05:28He, uh, he got, he got after it yesterday on the trade deadline day.
05:32And, uh, you know, we'll see if it works out.
05:35I'm not, you know, I don't know.
05:36We'll see if it works out.
05:37I'm not, you know, it seems like some you should be fired up about.
05:41Seems like others.
05:42Ho hum.
05:43We'll, we'll, we'll, we'll, we'll wait and see.
05:45Been told the models have gotten halls before and they've gotten.
05:47So, yeah.
05:49We'll see if Bendix is better at this.
05:51We'll see if that's the case.
05:53If he's better at this than the old Jeets and Denbo.
05:55So far, I'm going to say no.
05:57Well, it's been a tough start.
05:59Hey, but it's watching jazz doesn't become an MVP has been tough.
06:02I mean, you watch Kristen Yellich do it.
06:04Yeah.
06:05That wasn't him though.
06:07That wasn't him.
06:08I can't blame him for, for other crime, for the crimes of others.
06:11So, you know, I mean, you'd look at the Stanton and Yellich trades a little
06:16bit differently than you look at these.
06:18Um, the standard trade, I looked differently because he made $300
06:22million, knew you weren't going to make anything for him.
06:24Blowing the Yellich trade is an all time blow.
06:27Like that's a, you, you, you screwed the pooch, uh, Marcelo Zuna.
06:32You got Sandy.
06:33I can't really be too mad at that one.
06:35You got a, you got a, a Cy Young pitcher, right?
06:38But that's two front offices ago.
06:40Like that's Mike Hill.
06:42I got you.
06:44I mean, which is, I think part of the thing is like, nobody knows
06:48who to be mad at.
06:50And they look at this guy with his glasses and they're just like, beat
06:52it nerd, which is one of the things that I always say about
06:56organizations, right?
06:58When you have a lot of change within your organization and you
07:03have a lot of change, it usually means that you have a lot of change
07:07in the team, the coaches or whatever.
07:09Yeah.
07:10I mean, we talk about it all the time.
07:12If you get rid of a GM and football, the first guy that usually goes
07:15as the coach and then the quarterback, because they're all tied together.
07:18And then you got to go through that process again.
07:20So at what point is the organization, I'm not saying the fans, I'm
07:27not saying at what point is the organization going to see this
07:31through?
07:33Because there has been no regime to date that has actually let it
07:42play out, right?
07:44They get antsy and then we got to make changes.
07:46We got to start over again.
07:48And the process starts over again.
07:50Meanwhile, you're asking the fans to be patient.
07:52Yeah.
07:54I mean, like, look, the fans have been patient, but I think the thing
07:56that you look at from last year is they look like they had some
07:59talent.
08:01I mean, you made it to the deadline.
08:03You made the postseason.
08:05I will give, I wouldn't say pass, but I can give an explanation to,
08:09hey, your entire rotation got nuked basically at the start of the
08:13season.
08:15Yeah.
08:17So, but that, you know, I think, I think it was, it was heading
08:19towards disaster ville right away.
08:21But I just don't know.
08:23I just, I think the thing, what it is now is like, I just don't even
08:26know.
08:28Cause jazz is obviously hurts and it sucks seeing him go to this.
08:29And he's the most high profile guy that's gone.
08:31And immediately he's going out there and you see, he becomes like
08:35one of the faces of baseball.
08:37That is what's going to hurt the Marlins fan more than anything.
08:39Like you, you can sit here and you can tell me.
08:42Yeah.
08:44You can sit here and you can tell me that you got a hall for Trevor
08:46Rogers and that they fleeced the Orioles and a great.
08:49I hope that is the case.
08:51I hope these guys turn out to be awesome.
08:53I hope the guys that they got for jazz turn out to be awesome, but
08:55it is, it's a big ask.
08:56You keep going back to the well of asking like, Hey, be patient.
08:58Right.
09:00Keep doing it.
09:02That's more of my eventually.
09:04Yeah.
09:05Eventually you're going to just, you run out of feel.
09:07I think right now.
09:09And I think right now the Marlins are just there.
09:11I think, I think they're just not even at anger.
09:13I think of the apathy is just at such a point right now where people
09:15are just like, all right, whatever.
09:17Same old stuff.
09:19I would say for me, when I see a gym or an ownership, it's
09:24a, be patient, right?
09:26Like as much as we don't want to be patient with the dolphins, we
09:31can kind of see that, you know, they've tried to get some consistency
09:35in their building.
09:37And, and so like you, you may not want to be patient, but at least
09:43you can see stuff, right.
09:45You can see signs that, that there's hope with the Marlins, the
09:50Marlins front office has been the most impatient organization in
09:54baseball for the last, what?
09:5615 years.
09:58And they say, you got to wire it out.
10:00You got to be patient.
10:02I'm like, well, you're not fair.
10:04So at what point?
10:06And that's what I mean about when you look at the bad organizations
10:08in sports, right?
10:10Detroit, Detroit hired a coach and fired him after a year.
10:14Give him a six or seven year.
10:15Million dollar deal.
10:17How can you go to your fans and say, be patient?
10:19You got to, you know, we're young and we're working through it when
10:22you don't even have the patience in your own organization.
10:24You mean the Pistons, the Pistons?
10:26I'm sorry.
10:28Right.
10:29Like there's organizations that have done that.
10:31When you look up at Washington, they've had more coaches than, than
10:35whatever.
10:36Right.
10:37No, like I get it.
10:39It, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it,
10:43it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it,
10:45it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it.
10:47You can't expect, you don't want us to think is going to turn a change
10:50overnight, but neither can you.
10:53And so that's one of the things I kind of appreciate about what, uh,
10:59Steven Ross does.
11:01He's like too patient to, you know what I mean?
11:03At times he's kept guys a little bit too long.
11:05So I, I appreciate that.
11:08that, but the Marlins, you can't, you can't, you can't put the last week in a vacuum. I
11:15think they probably did the right thing. Like they were the worst team in the national league.
11:19They will be probably better next year just based on getting their arms back. Should they
11:24keep Sandy getting Uri Perez back and getting Max Meyer back healthy and getting all these
11:29guys in the fold. Like, I think that it's going to be inevitable. They'll be better
11:33next year.
11:34But, but, but we still don't, we don't, they're going to see it through because just like
11:39you said, you're right. They have a month. Sandy's gone. You're right. I don't. And I,
11:44and so I can't sit here. I think you're just going to have to show it if you're the Marlins
11:48at this point. Cause I think put your Twitter thumbs down. Yeah. And just, and just take,
11:55take the heat and, and just collectively in, in the offices say, look, we just gotta, you
12:02know, we gotta be patient ourselves and we gotta push through this.
12:06It's just all very unbecoming, you know? Like it's, it's one of these things where like
12:09I get that Bruce Sherman has come in here with a weird situation. Cause he, he basically
12:15got sidled up with Jeets. That whole Jeets thing fell apart. So Jesus, people gotta go.
12:21He wants his own people, but he doesn't have that much money. He's got a bunch of investors.
12:26How do you do that? Well, I got to be the raise. So I go with the raise guy and it's
12:29just like, right. All right. But then you got rid of a, what we thought was a pretty
12:35good GM and Kim Ang, right? Got a good, and immediately got, you know, you know, make
12:42the playoffs Kim Ang and the Marlins agreed to part ways mutually and air quotes, uh,
12:50skip Schumacher.
12:51We find out a month into the season. Everybody says this guy's a great manager. We all saw
12:55it last year. Accountability comes in with Cardinal's credibility. Been a champion. Yeah.
13:02But right out of the same page, he's going to be gone. So like, and that same breath,
13:07you're going to look at us and say, be patient when you have people in your organization.
13:14Yeah. Right. It's, it's one of these things where like, Hey, if you're sticking out and
13:21you're diehard and you're like, I was when I was 12 years old watching, Hey, Sue Sanchez,
13:26the pitcher, not the outfielder, go out there and pitch all the time for the Marlins. And
13:30you watch them get their teeth drubbed in. And eventually you saw Mike Lowell, Derek
13:34Lee, and Alex Gonzalez come together, or you were an Oh six, you were a kid and you saw
13:38Dan Ugla and Haley Ramirez, and they all thought they were going to suck Mike Jacobs.
13:42I hope that this guy gets the next crop of those guys. I hope, but I don't know what
13:47to tell you. I mean, like I'm going to, I, I respectfully, I'm going to just sit on the
13:51sidelines and I will sit here and I will, you know, hope I'll hope, but I don't have
13:58a lot of hope because since this dude has taken over from Lauria, I don't know, really.
14:05It does feel like he's ping pong and all over the place. There's not a lot of direction.
14:09I would say with all of the things that have happened in the past couple of months, and
14:16we have been probably given more excuses as to why things are going the way they are right
14:24for the organization to not almost, they don't feel the same way we do about this team and
14:34to basically start over again. Yeah. It's a hard thing to swallow when you've been watching
14:41it for a long period of time. And I, this is one of the reasons why you 100% appreciate
14:47what the heat do, even though you wish they would do more. Right. So.
