00:21Carlo Paalam had a tremendous showing to kick off his 2024 Paris Olympics medal hunt.

00:28The fighting pride of Bukidnon advanced to the quarterfinals of the Men's 57kg division

00:34after scoring a decisive unanimous decision win over Ireland's Jude Gallagher.

00:40After three rounds of action, all five judges favored Paalam with scorecards of a 30-27 and four 29-28s.

00:49Paalam's coach Elmer Pamisa is confident that this only solidifies Paalam's chances of bagging the elusive gold medal.

00:58I am 100% confident that we will be able to win the medal.

01:03I think if Carlo continues to play his game, and if we add his confidence and endurance,

01:14I think we will have a big chance of winning the medal.

01:19Coach Pamisa added that the boxer will stop at nothing until the job is finished.

01:25My advice to Carlo is to enjoy your game.
