00:00Amidst the rubble in Gaza sits a portrait of Ismail Haniyeh. Residents in the enclave
00:06plunged into grief after the Hamas chief's killing was announced.
00:11Israel crossed red lines not only today but from 1948. Every month and every day there
00:17have been assassinations. The unjust world supports the state of Israel.
00:23While residents in Gaza digest the latest killing, over in the West Bank a general strike
00:28was declared. And with shops shuttered, worried residents contemplate what comes next.
00:35There will be a response to the assassination. I expect there to be a strong response and
00:39also one coming from Lebanon.
00:42News of Ismail Haniyeh's targeting in Iran has also been reverberating across Israel.
00:47And the reaction out on the streets is mixed.
00:50I think we're happy but I think we're also aware that this could cause an even larger
00:59war.
01:01In Tehran, where Haniyeh was slain, Iranians brandished Palestinian flags in protest, warning
01:07the Hamas leader and calling for retaliation.
01:10Iranians care about their guests and Ismail Haniyeh was our guest. They martyred our guest
01:15in our land and in our territory. They should know that our armed forces will give an appropriate
01:20response to their crimes.
01:22Elsewhere in the region, demonstrations against Haniyeh's killing have also spread to Lebanon
01:28as well as Turkey.
01:30But protests have developed as far as North Africa, with marches held in both Tunisia
01:35and Morocco.
01:37Even stretching to South Asia, with Pakistanis taking to the streets in droves.
01:42Ismail Haniyeh's killing is just the latest development in the war between Israel and
01:47Hamas, which will soon enter its 10th month.
01:50His assassination is likely to throw the ceasefire talks up in the air as Israeli hostages remain
01:56in Gaza.
