00:03Planning permission has been granted to build 161 new homes near Bowlesover
00:07and create a new link road. A full planning application by Woodall Homes
00:12to build on land southwest of Broccoli Wood, Oxcroft Lane at Stanfrey, including a proposed
00:18road between Shuttlewood Road and Oxcroft Road and the demolition of the derelict
00:22Bowle Appleton Farm and Outbuildings has been passed by the District Council's Planning Committee.
00:27The new homes comprise 14 single-storey bungalows, 33 two-and-a-half-storey houses
00:33using the roof space and 114 two-storey homes. 16 of them would be affordable.
00:41A public consultation has been launched into a Peak District Hospitality Entrepreneurs' Plan
00:46to create a new restaurant in Bakewell by converting a historic and iconic building.
00:51Rob Hattersley is aiming to bring 60 new jobs to the town with his proposal for the
00:56old Royal Bank of Scotland building which first opened its doors in the town in 1838.
01:02I grew up in Bakewell so reviving the bank and turning it into a place that can be used by
01:06locals and visitors alike would feel like coming home said Rob. It also feels right
01:11to be rescuing such an iconic building and investing in the local economy. It's a principle
01:16that drives all my business decisions he said. An application for planning permission has been
01:22submitted to the Peak District National Park Authority where comments on the
01:25plans can be made until September 2nd.
