00:21The Migrant Workers Department is allocating 25,000 jobs to Japan's embassy in Katuwang
00:27for Filipinos who want to work in Japan.
00:31This was announced during the Philippine-Japan Friendship Week,
00:35the 68th year of bilateral labor relations between the Philippines and Japan.
00:40Rooted in shared values of mutual respect, cooperation, and commitment to fostering safe
00:46and orderly migration for our OFWs.
00:48This is the very first time for the Department of Migrant Workers
00:54and the Embassy of Japan to collaborate on hosting a Friendship Week celebration for the Philippines and Japan.
01:02On Thursday, August 1, the job fair will be held at Robinson's Galleria in Ortigas, Quezon City.
01:0915 licensed recruitment agencies are expected to attend the overseas job fair
01:15that will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
01:19Japan has been one of the key labor markets in the Asia-Pacific region.
01:24It is estimated that there are more than 300,000 documented Filipino workers in the professional and skilled categories,
01:31mostly in the fields of engineering, software development, language teaching, interpreters, translators, and nursing care.
01:40Hundreds of thousands of Filipinos have called Japan their second home,
01:46and I can truly say that they have contributed greatly and positively
01:51to where our country's relationship stands today.
01:54The jobs that can be applied include construction, medicine and healthcare, hotel and restaurant, and customer services.
02:03This also applies to those who want to become jewelry designers, cooks, entertainers, professional athletes, and tech specialists.
02:10The program aims to introduce Filipinos to legitimate recruiters.
02:14The job fair will also feature stories of the hard work and resilience of the OFWs in Japan
02:20through film showing and hybrid greeting sessions.
02:24Free lessons in Japanese will also be accepted.
