Tenby’s Town Crier opens new Weird Fish clothing store in the seaside town

Tenby’s new Town Crier was hand to lend a helping hand to open a new clothing store, with Weird Fish introducing shoppers to its new premises in the heart of the seaside town.
Following the success of their stores in Carmarthen and St Davids, Weird Fish has opened their third Welsh store at Tenby’s Tudor Square having identified the destination for its tourism, coastal vibe and strong local community, that fits perfectly with the laid-back, feel-good clothing that the company prides itself on.
Seventeen-year-old Erin Morgan who was officially appointed as Tenby’s first female Town Crier in June, and is the daughter of the town’s Mayor, Cllr Dai Morgan, took to the High Street on a sunny Saturday (July 27) to officially open the new store.
Following seven stores opening in 2023, Weird Fish continue their expansion throughout the UK in 2024.
The store’s story began in 1993. After a bracing and inspiring walk along a coast path in Cornwall, Weird Fish was born with a simple mission - to produce well priced, well made and distinctive clothes that become instant feel-good favourites.
Over 30 years later the brand is proud to still have the same founding values at its core, priding itself on the provenance and quality of its clothing, and work closely with trusted suppliers. This belief is lovingly stitched into every Weird Fish product.
A spokesperson for Weird Fish said: “With goody bags worth £50 for the first 50 customers, there as an instant queue at the till!
“Customers were greeted with fizz and delicious Weird Fish cup cakes, made by Whatmaisybaked from Pembroke, which went down very well!
"Music for the day was provided by the fantastic Shantyjacs, whose sea shanties drew in a great crowd.
"Not only did they provide a great atmosphere for the day, but also give all the money they make to the RNLI, a great cause.
"It was lovely for the Weird Fish team to meet all the locals and holidaymakers, who filled the shop and made us feel really at home in Tenby.
"We’re delighted to be part of the community."
