Electric scooters linked to around 100 serious road traffic accidents in Bristol every year

These incidents make up one in 10 of every incident where somebody is killed or seriously injured on the city’s roads.
Experts at Bristol City Council believe this data underestimates the rise in accidents linked to scooters, as reports from hospital staff suggest even higher numbers. Both legal scooters which are part of the Tier rental scheme, and illegal private scooters are included in the figures.
