00:00The first and fears are growing once again of a wider regional war in the Middle East.
00:06This after Israel's security cabinet gave the green light to Prime Minister Benjamin
00:09Netanyahu to decide on the nature of a response to a rocket strike in the Israeli Occupy Golan
00:16Heights that killed 12 teenagers and children.
00:20An Israeli drone strike outside the southern Lebanese town of Shakra in the early hours
00:25of Monday has already killed two people and wounded three others, including a child.
00:30Diplomats now scrambling to prevent a surge of fighting.
00:35Jordana Miller has more from Jerusalem.
00:39We're in basically a holding pattern while the Israeli Prime Minister and the Defence
00:43Minister decide on the scale and the timing of their reprisal strike.
00:51It will be a kind of strike that Israel has not done before.
00:57That is, we've seen Israel strike deep inside Hezbollah, Lebanese territory, to hit Hezbollah
01:04targets, but this will be a significantly more intense kind of strike.
01:11And there's various options.
01:14The first could be hitting Hezbollah military targets even deeper and closer to Beirut.
01:21The second option could be also including some Lebanese civilian infrastructure sites,
01:28for example, fuel storage sites, possibly in southern Lebanon.
01:34Or third, carrying out a very high level targeted assassination.
01:41We may see a combination of all three.
01:44And it appears that Israel is now going to take their time and decide when to carry out
01:50this strike.
01:51Right now, Hezbollah has cleared a lot of its positions.
01:55They're hiding.
01:57We've seen a drop really in the attacks from Hezbollah since Saturday's deadly strike on
02:03that Druze village that killed 12 children.
02:07Israel may decide to wait a couple of days and get a little more quiet, enjoy the quiet,
02:14we should say.
02:16So we're going to have to wait and see.
02:19One of the big questions is whether Israel will actually hit Beirut or not.
02:25Beirut may be Hezbollah's red line that could drag the region into a wider war.
02:33That is certainly the warning of the United States and others, and even some inside Netanyahu's
02:39security cabinet.
02:41So it appears Israel may, they're weighing it, certainly.
02:46But if we see Beirut hit, then I think we're in a real danger zone, because then Hezbollah
02:52could say, well, if Beirut is OK, then Tel Aviv is game.
