00:27listed the reasons why the use of mother tongue-based multilingual education

00:36up to Grade 3 in basic education should be stopped.

00:39First, the lack of materials.

00:41Second, the lack of teachers who are familiar with mother tongue.

00:46And lastly, the lack of understanding within the curriculum due to the differences in mother tongue.

00:55Contreras added that the Punto de Vista needs to set up a DepEd

01:00to address the problem of the use of mother tongue or the language of a child.

01:07This will increase the ability of students to comprehend.

01:14For now, we are just waiting for the Bicameral Conference Committee

01:19to pass the bill before President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. passes it.

01:26It is not good to stop the implementation of mother tongue.

01:32There are logistical and administrative problems.

01:35If there is a way, it can be done.

01:39If there is money and support, it can be done.

01:42And teachers should get used to it.
