Rescue operations continue days after Typhoon Gaemi passed over Taiwan. Several areas in central and southern Taiwan are still overwhelmed by floods.

00:06and supplies to a flooded village in Yunlin County. It's one of many villages across
00:11central and southern Taiwan that have faced torrential rain even after Typhoon Kemi left
00:16the region. Despite taking precautions before the storm hit, many were still overwhelmed
00:21by the deluge.
00:22The heavy downpours have damaged major roads, cutting off some mountain villages from aid.
00:43The worst affected areas announced school and workplace closures for the fourth day
00:47in a row, as the risk of flooding and landslides hasn't gone away. The central government's
00:52disaster response team has been monitoring relief efforts.
01:15For hundreds of households around Taiwan, that return to normal couldn't come fast
01:18enough. But the typhoon has made a lasting impact in the lives it's taken and in damage
01:24that may be felt for years to come.
