00:00Alright, happy Polish New Year, and I'm here to do an unboxing and review for you guys
00:04today of the Bakuryu Sentai AbaRanger Memorial Edition Dino Race, which is the main changer
00:14from, well, AbaRanger, but also Power Rangers Dino Thunder, the adaptation of AbaRanger
00:22from 2004.
00:24This was released for the 20th anniversary last year of AbaRanger, because AbaRanger
00:30came out in 2003, and I'm here reviewing in 2024, the 20th anniversary year of Dino
00:38Thunder.
00:39And, yeah, on top of that, AbaRanger got a 20th anniversary film after Hurricanger did,
00:49and I believe that Hurricanger also got a memorial version of their main, of the main
00:54three-changer, the Hurricane Gyro, gonna be getting that at some point, but yeah.
01:01And as well as the AbaRangers and Hurricangers both got new power-ups in their respective
01:08movies, and I'll be getting the one that comes with, that's for AbaRanger, which will work
01:16with this version of the Dino Race, when that comes out later this year.
01:21So yeah, they basically pulled what they did with Gokaiger, with Ten Gokaiger, where they
01:28introduced the Gokaigallion Key and everything, and then they had the Memorial Mobirates work
01:37with that, so yeah.
01:41And have, like, new sounds and everything, so yeah.
01:45But yeah, so we get to the packaging here, and it's not really anything special.
01:51It looks like they, I'm assuming this is a recreation for the most part of the packaging
01:56that the original, the original changers, or changer, came in back in 2003, but yeah,
02:05it kind of feels a little cheap, I'm not gonna lie, it's not really that premium.
02:11Whereas the Gokaiger stuff, well, for the main changers at the very least, you had this
02:17really nice, like, boxes, or these really nice boxes and everything, and packaging that
02:23makes it feel premium and everything, and even early on in the Memorial Ranger Keys,
02:30they felt, they also felt premium.
02:35But, unfortunately not with this, but yeah, I believe Dekaranger's also getting a 20 years
02:42after movie as well, so they're re-releasing their changer as well, so yeah, but yeah,
02:48I used to have the Dino Thunder version of this years ago, when it originally came out,
02:54back when I was, like, 7, so yeah, but that has since gone the way of eBay, I'm pretty
03:01sure, because I'm pretty sure my mom sold it at some point, but yeah.
03:06But luckily, we get new stuff out of Japan, so yeah.
03:09So on the front, you get Aba Red right there, his T-Rex, then you get the changer right
03:15here with the three different faceplates that you can put on it for all three of the main
03:19three, dinosaurs that make up the Ranger's suits and everything, so yeah.
03:27It says Memorial Edition right there, I'm assuming that's Dino Brace in Japanese, Bandai,
03:33Bandai Namco, top you got the three Aba Rangers, their symbol, the logo of the show, approved
03:41by Toei Company, then you got the side right here again with a picture of the T-Rex at
03:46a slightly different angle, so yeah, this is definitely a feeling of 2004, so, or 2003,
03:54so.
03:55Then on the back, you got a bunch of Japanese, and then it shows you what it comes with,
04:01shows you the corresponding Rangers that the faceplates go with, then it shows you the
04:08main things here, got an LED light in the eye, you press the button and it makes sounds,
04:17there's a hinge on the mouth right here to keep it open, and all that, so yeah, and also
04:25it doesn't come with batteries, you need batteries, so yeah, AAA batteries, and yeah.
04:31So I've already opened this before doing this video, but for the sake of consistency with
04:35the Memorial stuff, I repackaged everything, so yeah.
04:41Right here is the wrist strap that this comes with, I'm very surprised that they didn't
04:48do a wrist strap that's basically the same as the original version, just maybe a bit
04:54longer, because this is just a basic black one, and I imagine maybe the Hurricane Gyro
05:00comes with something similar, but yeah, so, you got the main changer right here which
05:05has the T-Rex's faceplate on by default, but here you got the Pterodactyl's faceplate
05:13and the Triceratops' faceplate as well, so, yeah, just get these out, I did not remove
05:24these two faceplates, and yeah, so this is, so, how I got this was basically that it is
05:32available on Amazon US, no idea how, it's sold by Amazon Japan, but it is the official
05:39thing, somehow they were able to put it on Amazon US, so yeah, and it's less than a hundred
05:46bucks, it's like, I think it's like ninety something dollars, and if you have like Prime
05:51you can get free shipping and everything, so, yeah, and this took like, I want to say
05:57around a week to get to where I live from Japan, so yeah, so, here we go, with the Dyno
06:06Brace, and just to show you guys how the batteries go in, so, there's these little slits, or
06:13slits, or yeah, two slits, right there, you just put your fingernails in and you can take
06:19this back thing off, this is a change from the original changer from what I understand,
06:24you got the on and off switch right here, and just like the Memorial Mobirates and Gokai
06:32Cellular, you push down this button, do I have something I can do that with, one sec,
06:41here we go, so, you push down on that, then you push this out, and then you get access
06:57to where you put in the batteries, so, yeah, and then once you're done, put this back on,
07:05and you're ready to go, and with this wrist strap, you put this through, and then, all
07:28good to go, so, yeah, and that's actually really kinda cool, still wish it was, like,
07:36a version of the one that came with the original changer, and I'm assuming also the actors
07:40in both Operation Dino Thunder War with the props, but, whatever, still fine, so yeah,
07:48so basically you get a decent amount of sounds, I don't think as much as the Memorial Mobirates
07:53obviously, but you do get a bunch of new sounds. Now, originally, for both the Japanese
08:00and US version, you only got about, like, what, four or five sounds? Basically, you
08:06press this button, and you get a call sound, and as you saw right there, you press it again,
08:15you get voice phrases from the show, but yeah, but then, flip open them, or, you know,
08:23latch open the mouth, then when you press this, and you get the activation noise, and
08:33the growl of the T-Rex, so yeah, obviously they're gonna be different with the Triceratops
08:38and Pterodactyl, but I'll show that off in a moment, but yeah, but with this, they added
08:43more phrases when you press this.
09:13Okay, now it's starting to repeat. So, yeah, I'm assuming that those are phrases from the
09:40first episode of the show, I have not watched Aba Ranger yet, I do have the DVD, though,
09:43from Shell Factory, so, I will watch it eventually. So, yeah. But then, there's two extra buttons
09:49down here that have more sounds. So yeah, that button does music from the show. So yeah,
10:05you get the theme song, that's the song that plays over the end credits, then I'm assuming
10:17that that's either change music or battle music. And you get the other, uh, the other
10:54theme song. So, yeah, that's the theme song. So, yeah, that's the theme song. So, yeah,
11:22okay, I think it's repeating. So, yeah, basically, this is for sounds from the first episode,
11:31I believe, this is for individual sounds of each ranger, just to show this off. So, yeah,
11:46just like the Memorial Mambirates, when you play the music through that, the music,
11:55or when the music plays, you can also just do the normal morph sounds and everything,
12:02and I'm assuming also the voice phrases, so yeah. But just to also show this,
12:07I don't know if the original does this.
12:20I'm assuming that's the voice actor for the T-Rex.
12:30Yeah, I've only seen one episode, actually, of Ava Ranger, at least in full. I think I've seen
12:34clips, but I've seen Ava Ranger, it was episode, whatever the episode was that was in Lost and
12:41Found in Translation, when I got the DVD, or I checked that out years ago with fan subs,
12:46and when I got the DVD from Shout Factory, I watched it again. Man, Dino Thunder really
12:52watered that shit down.
13:04I think that's repeating now. Yeah, so that's basically it. These also have tinted plastic
13:19for the eyes. Let's go with...
13:23Then it makes the different sounds when you put in the face parts. Hold on.
13:34Yeah. Also,
13:39that also happened in the original. I saw a video where someone was reviewing the original,
13:45well, the Dino Thunder version, but the Dino Thunder version, they
13:48reused all of the sounds from the sound chip in the Japanese version for it.
13:57So yeah, I'm just making sure that that doesn't play. Different sounds for that,
14:01but I'm assuming that those are sounds from the first episode.
14:05All right.
14:17Is that from the episode I just mentioned?
15:17Yeah, I think it's starting to repeat phrases still.
16:18Yeah, I think it's repeating phrases at this point.
16:46So yeah, now we get the pterodactyl.
17:01Okay.
17:15Okay.
17:45Huh?
18:15Okay, it's repeating phrases.
18:46Okay.
19:00Okay.
19:16Okay.
19:38I'm assuming that's repeating phrases. So yeah, so voice phrases from the
19:45actors, from the voice actors, music from the show, as much as they could fit in there,
19:50I guess, on the sound chip, on the new sound chip, I guess, that they would have had to put in there.
19:55So yeah. So basically, I'm pretty sure just like the Mobirates, it's based on the original
20:01molds from back in 2003, just with some parts updated. The Mobirates as well, I believe the
20:07Memorial version is slightly bigger. It's like probably less than a centimeter or so, like,
20:14bigger than the original mold. For that, I'm assuming this might be the same kind of thing.
20:22But yeah, so really glad to have this in my collection.
20:29Really do like Power Rangers Dino Thunder, but I haven't seen it actually.
20:44So yeah,
20:45I'm pretty sure this is based on the original molds from back in 2003, just with some parts updated.
20:49So yeah, I'm pretty sure this is based on the original molds from back in 2003, just with some
20:52parts updated. So yeah, I'm pretty sure this is based on the original molds from back in 2003,
20:55just with some parts updated. So yeah, I'm pretty sure this is based on the original molds from back in
20:582003, just with some parts updated. So yeah, I'm pretty sure this is based on the original molds from
21:00back in 2003, just with some parts updated. So yeah, I'm pretty sure this is based on the original
21:02molds from back in 2003, just with some parts updated. So yeah, I'm pretty sure this is based on the
21:04original molds from back in 2003, just with some parts updated. So yeah, I'm pretty sure this is based
21:06on the original molds from back in 2003, just with some parts updated.
