00:00At Calumpit National High School, blended learning will be conducted because the school is still using it as an evacuation center.
00:09Live from Calumpit, Bulacan, EJ Gomez has the first news. EJ?
00:18Kara, good morning. We are here at Calumpit National High School where the students' arrangement is modular or blended learning.
00:27This is the first day of the return to school. We are saddened and dismayed by the students and parents we spoke to who are evacuees here at CNHS.
00:44According to the leadership of Calumpit National High School,
00:47more than 121 families or 517 individuals are still in the school that was turned into an evacuation center after being evacuated due to floods.
00:56Because of this, the students' arrangement at CNHS is modular or blended learning on the first day of the return to school.
01:03Actually, we are modular here because we are given time to stay here with our countrymen who were affected by the typhoon.
01:12The modular arrangement will continue as long as there are evacuees here at Calumpit National High School.
01:17Some students are saddened that they will not be able to see their classmates on the first day of class.
01:24We are saddened because it is very difficult for us to study well because we are here and we are not taught by the teachers.
01:37Aside from that, we already bought our equipment and uniforms.
01:41We are not excited because of the floods and we are here in our own school that was evacuated.
01:51We hope that we will be able to do something for the evacuees who are not in the school.
01:57Because the students are really affected.
02:00Just like that, they should be starting their classes now, but there is no module.
02:07That is why the students are not able to learn because they are not taught by the teachers.
02:20At this point, many evacuees have already woken up here in the covered court of CNHS.
02:27Most of them are just kids who are just playing.
02:30Others, particularly high school students, have already talked to their teachers about whether they will do a module or online class for today.
02:39They all said the same thing.
02:42Hopefully, their situation will get better.
02:45They will be able to go home and enter their classrooms to see their teachers and classmates.
02:54That is the first news from Kalumpit, Bulacan.
