00:0015 schools in Quezon City will not be able to start classes today due to the effects of typhoon Habagat and typhoon Carina.

00:23Van, good morning. Students have arrived early here at Batasan Hills National High School for the start of the school year 2024-2025 today.
00:35It was past 5 a.m. when the flag-raising ceremony was held.
00:39According to the principal, Dr. Joseph Palisok, there are 15,890 enrollees this year, which is lower than 17,000 last year.
00:49They were not accepted as grade 11 students and were referred to nearby schools.
00:55Classrooms are still lacking, so blended learning is being implemented.
00:59Students are on-site for three days while online for two days.
01:03It's the same for grades 7 to 10 students.
01:06For grade 12 students, face-to-face classes are five days.
01:09Meanwhile, the Schools Division Superintendent of Quezon City said that 15 out of 158 schools will not be able to start classes today.
01:18Only 11 are serving as evacuation centers these days, so they will be able to start classes on August 1.
01:25Four were affected by flooding, so they will open on August 5.
01:29They will have Saturday classes to catch up.
01:36We are blended, so there are grade levels that are on-site.
