00:00Let's start with American League Cy Young for 2024 and let's look at the board.
00:08I'll throw three names up there and you talk about them.
00:10I think obviously you have to start with Tyreek Scooble, but I'll let you take the conversation

00:16Look, Scooble, it's, it's his, I think that the way he's pitched this year has been so
00:20consistent and not to take anything away from Corbin Burns, but here's the rub, which is
00:26if Tyreek Scooble does get traded and gets traded to the Dodgers or gets traded to the
00:31Braves or some other organization, right, or the Dodgers, all of a sudden now it becomes
00:37Corbin Burns award.
00:38And I love that Seth Lue goes on this because this is just, you know, you kind of go back
00:43to all the work you put in.
00:44Right.
00:45And we talked in the off season, right in January and February, we're talking about,
00:48you know, writing all the profiles for the black book for the pitchers this year.
00:52And going through the one guy that really stood out to me, he's like, man, this guy's
00:55a great value.
00:56He costs nothing.
00:57And it's Seth Lugo and all the, every time you get pulling back another layer of the
01:01onion and you get pulling it back and you say, nah, this is really good.
01:05Everything's really good here.
01:06All these deep metrics are good.
01:07Can he just withhold over 175 innings this year?
01:11And so far the guy's been unbelievable.
01:12He deserves to be in this conversation.
01:14The fact is at 12 to one, I don't think he can win it, but I mean, it's stunning for
01:18a guy who was being drafted this past year at two 80 overall, like just let that sink
01:25in.
01:26That's where he was.
01:27And it's a picture that we were in on.
01:28We talked about it and in all the draft prep shows, we said, what a, what a huge win it
01:32would be for people.
01:34If you hit on Seth Lugo and how good this rotation could be.
01:37If singer Lugo Waka all pitched well, you know, the Padres have done a good job of turning
01:42some pictures around the last couple of years.
01:44And Snell was one of those guys too.
01:45Let's let the Padres system has done a really good job with the pictures they've gotten
01:49and health has been a problem for guys like Darvish and Musgrove.
01:52But you put those aside.
01:54Look at Dylan ceases.
01:55No hitter earlier this week.
01:56Right.
01:57We didn't even talk about that.
01:58Right.
01:59The Padres have taken these pictures and really gotten the most out of them.
02:02And now that they're moving on guys like Seth Lugo being right in that mix.
02:05But I do believe it's still scuba.
02:08I don't think the Tigers deal him.
02:10We'll see next week if a deal presents itself where it makes enough sense for them to make
02:14that kind of move.
02:16But if they, if you do think that's going to happen, now's the time to get on Corbin
02:20Burns because you're getting plus money.
02:21You're getting two to one odds.
02:23It's a smart time to invest.
02:24If you haven't in Corbin Burns and look, it could be anyway, who knows what scuba looks
02:28like over the last 50 innings?
02:30Because frankly, last year he didn't throw that many innings.
02:33So there could be a version of fatigue or maybe the Tigers are so far out of it.
02:37They go, you know what?
02:38Let's take those last couple of weeks off.
02:40Let's just capturing scuba for next year and move on.
02:43That's a scenario that could be out there too.
02:45So there's a few scenarios out there where Corbin Burns as an investment right now makes
02:49a lot of sense.
