00:00Well it's our second year of Trans Pride Hastings and I am thrilled that we have got such a huge
00:05presence here at Hastings Museum today. We had yesterday our big queer party which is a big
00:09party that we do at the Observer building but today we're having a big festival. It's Trans Pride Fest
00:14we're calling it. So we've got community organisations just behind the camera you
00:18won't be able to see that have come along. We've got the Clare Project and Women's Voice and
00:22organisations like that. We've got a huge queer market over behind me. We've got workshops taking
00:28place within the museum and outside. We've got swimming at the swimming pool we've got all sorts.
00:33It is a big celebration of all things trans and non-binary and a big sort of family festival
00:39picnic sort of vibe. We've got a wonderful stage and entertainment everything you could ask for
00:43it's wonderful and the best weather we could ever wish for. It's a really challenging time for the
00:47trans community as a whole but actually Hastings has really rallied support behind us. We are
00:53really lucky that this year we are so much larger than we were last year and we wouldn't be able to
00:58do this without support of the town. So it really does feel like the right time for us and we've got
01:03such a wonderful queer crowd here today. Yeah so it's important because it just brings us together
01:09it gives people a space to exist it shows others that we are welcome here and that we are a
01:13welcoming town and that there is there is room for us all to sort of link up and
01:21get together and just celebrate each other. It's so important.
