00:12Malaysia has never become an Asian tiger, as claimed by the former Prime Minister, Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

00:18That's what Veteran UMNO, Tengku Razali Hamzah said,

00:21in addition to giving a reminder not to rely on illusions.

00:24He is better known as Kuli, saying

00:27Malaysia cannot be considered an Asian tiger,

00:30given that the country spends almost all of its projects,

00:33including food and hospitality,

00:35due to foreign investors promoting Malaysia.

00:38Tengku Razali said,

00:39there are views that Malaysia has become a rich and developed country.

00:44You are never an Asian tiger.

00:46It's only an illusion.

00:49In 2018, Mahathir, when he became Prime Minister for the second time,

00:53announced that Malaysia would return to be an Asian tiger economy.

00:56He repeated it a year later,

00:58when he launched a government plan for economic development in 2030.

01:03The Asian tiger label was given to the economic expert, Medeli Burma,

01:07who said that Malaysia is only fit to be called a small tiger or small tiger.

01:12Malaysia is said to be the fifth Asian tiger,

01:15the name of the economy that was affected by the financial crisis in Asia in 1997.
