00:10from the nation's capital to capital cities
00:13and regional towns across Australia, like Ballarat,
00:17where three local women have allegedly been murdered this year.

00:23There's no excuse for violent men.
00:26There will be 26 rallies this weekend.
00:29It began in Byron Bay last night.
00:32There, they marched in darkness.
00:34Today, in Melbourne, they marched in rain.
00:37Wherever the rally, the anger and emotion was laid bare.
00:41Karen Robertson's daughter, Rakiah,
00:43was killed by her then-partner in 2013.
00:46Ten and a half years later, and we're still coming to rallies.
00:50Along with thousands of others, she's demanding change,
00:53hoping to be heard in the halls of power.

01:05Today's organisers say it's a good start, but it's not enough.
01:09We're demanding funding for frontline specialist services,
01:12men's behaviour change programs and women's refuges,
01:15but we're also urging for first responders
01:18to be mandatory trained in trauma-informed care.
01:21Almost two women are killed every week in Australia,
01:24more than 40 this year alone.

01:45The rallies will run from Friday night through to Sunday afternoon,
01:49spread over thousands of kilometres,
01:51many voices with one message.
01:53More needs to be done and enough is enough.
01:55We need to make noise. We must be heard.
