00:00So we have all our lasers and treatment rooms down here.
00:05She's brought her to see Dr Nick Lowe, one of the country's top dermatologists,
00:09and skin advisor to the rich and famous, hoping that he can get her to see the light.
00:14Keep still, keep still, just relax.
00:17Megan's face is being photographed using an ultraviolet imaging machine,
00:21which reveals the true underlying damage to too much sun exposure.
00:26Right, all of this, all of this is sun damage.
00:31Let's see the other side.
00:34See here, and this is even more, okay?
00:37This is even more.
00:38This area here is really quite dark and pigmented, and that's worrying.
00:44And this here as well.
00:46Now, I bet your wrinkle score is pretty small.
00:50Do you know why?
00:51Because the ultraviolet has caused damage and swelling in your skin,
00:57and people who go in a tanning bed, they think,
01:00ah, my skin feels great because it's all plumped up with that damage that the sun has done,
01:06and it temporarily gets rid of your wrinkling.
01:09But what it's doing long term is in 10 years, you're going to have a hell of a lot more wrinkles.
01:15And look, you've got a lovely face.
01:19You've got a perfect face, and if you stop tanning now,
01:22and if you start using sensible creams and protection,
01:26you've got a very good chance of repairing quite a lot of this damage.
01:31If you carry on, there's one thing that's definitely going to happen.
01:35You're going to get wrinkles and crinkles and sun spots that are very difficult to treat,
01:41and you're also going to get a risk of, most importantly, melanoma, okay?
01:47This is Kristina. I'm an expert.
