PTI Finalizes Women Candidates for Punjab Assembly Reserved Seats _ Dawn News English

00:00The Pakistan Tariq-e-Insaf has finalized its list of candidates for the seats reserved
00:05for women in the Punjab Assembly.
00:07This follows a recent Supreme Court verdict favoring the party, granting it reserved seats
00:11based on the general seats won in the February 8th vote.
00:14BTI has prepared a list of 35 women candidates, but it's expected to claim only 24 reserved
00:20seats.
00:21Notable names include social media activists Sanam Javed and Dr. Yasmin Rashid.
00:25The final list approved will come from BTI founder Imran Khan.
00:29Many of these nominees participated in the May 9th protest or performed security duties
00:34at Khan Zaman Park residence.
00:35Previously, 24 women and three minority MPA speakers were suspended by Punjab Assembly
00:40Speaker Malik Ahmed Khan and barred from joining house proceedings following a Supreme Court
00:45suspension of an election commission verdict.
00:47BTI has also prepared a list of 14 nominees for the reserved seats for women from the
00:52Punjab Quota in the National Assembly.
00:54These include Kavil Shauzeb, Rehana Dar, and Khadija Shah, among others.
