00:00As you mentioned, why I can't speak to specifics of Ms. Dionne, the syndrome has certain things
00:07we know about it, one of which is triggers.
00:11So again, as many of your viewers know, stiff person syndrome has episodes of muscle stiffness
00:16but also muscle spasms, and they come and go, and there are certain triggers that we
00:20know that cause these, and some of the triggers are loud noises, stress, changes in temperature
00:29or environment, and so you can imagine in front of large groups, things like that, that
00:35could be an issue, or again, in a loud arena or auditorium.
00:40I suspect anyone who does this professionally, though, again, this is sort of quite routine
00:45for them, and it maybe doesn't cause the same degree of stress, or again, there are ways
00:49of also modifying those variables.
00:53Another thing to keep in mind is stiff person syndrome, while rare, does have some treatments.
00:57There's medications to treat the symptoms, and then there's underlying immunotherapy
01:02to treat the actual disease, and so with any luck, any given patient will try these, and
01:08maybe there is a lessening of severity of symptoms, or something along those lines to
01:15help someone get back to what they're doing professionally.
