Russian, Chinese strategic bombers conduct joint patrols
Russian Tu-95MS bombers flew over the Chukchi and Bering seas and over the northern part of the Pacific Ocean with their Chinese counterparts, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.
The Chinese Ministry of Defense emphasized that the operation is not targeted at a third party, is in line with international law, and has nothing to do with the current international and regional situation.
The joint cruise was part of the 2024 military cooperation, and has become the eighth air strategic patrol organized by the two armies since 2019.
The U.S. said that American and Canadian fighter jets had intercepted the Russian and Chinese aircraft in the Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone.
