Malaysia’s quest to end its nearly seven-decade wait for a maiden Olympic Games gold medal began on Thursday (July 25) as the archery competitions starts, a day before the Games' opening ceremony in Paris.

00:39He will take part in the qualification round of the men's 10-metre air pistol event on

00:45The badminton team has also checked into the Games' village in St. Denis to prepare for
00:50their competition that will start on Saturday.
00:52The question is whether the Malaysian contingent of 26 athletes, with 61.5 per cent of them
00:58being debutants, can clinch the gold medal.
01:02On paper, badminton and track cycling are Malaysia's best bets for gold, even though
01:07the athletes are not labelled as favourites to win in the Games.
01:11In badminton, the men's doubles pair of Aaron Chia and Soh Wu-yik and men's singles player
01:17Li Zijia have the best chances for medals, while Chen Tangjie and Tou I-Wei could be
01:22a surprise package in the mixed doubles.
01:26Malaysia's track cycling legend Datuk Azizul Hasni Awang will contest in his fifth Olympics
01:31searching for gold in Cairn and Sprint, after winning a silver and a bronze in Cairn the
