00:00What's up, we are Connor and Michael from Mugshot, we're out on tour with the Amity

00:13Affliction, Current, and Dying Wish right now, and this is a digital tour bus, Bus Invaders.

00:20Alright, this is control center here, everyone drives except for Michael, passenger princess,

00:30always riding shotgun.

00:31I'm just like the least confident driving big vehicles, so I don't.

00:36But he will stay awake for any drive that we ever do.

00:40First shift after the show I'm up, because I can't like go to sleep and wake up and do

00:44second shift or something.

00:45First shift I'm there for like 4 or 5 hours, if you need me.

00:49We have zero rules on who drives for how long, it's just whoever is awake and feels ready

00:54to drive.

00:55If we get sleepy we swap out, but we're pretty good about sleeping if we're not driving.

01:02We listen to just about anything, if it's our photographer who loves to drive, he is

01:08listening to like 2010s metalcore all of the time, it is awesome, it gets so tiring after

01:15playing on an album that is 10 years old every night.

01:20If I'm driving it's probably pop punk, if Ringo, our vocalist is driving, it is the

01:25weirdest music you have ever heard in your entire life.

01:28The screen probably says something in Russian, or it's like spoken word, acoustic folk, it's

01:37always something weird.

01:39I will wake up from sleep and hear him playing music and be like I don't know what's happening,

01:43and go back to sleep.

01:44That's true.

01:45We have snacks everywhere, anything that we don't eat from our rider every day just kind

01:52of ends up in here.

01:53We have Clorox wipes for when we get sticky, a big spicy noodle fan, we love cup ramen,

01:59especially if it's spicy, a big clean, I don't know, energy drink fan in general.

02:05We got these ketchup chips when we were in Canada and they're disgusting, they're probably

02:09the worst thing I've ever tasted.

02:12Ringo is the only person in our band who likes them.

02:15We have a cooler that just gets every drink, there's propane in there right now too because

02:20we have a grill that we have not used, so the propane just sits there, but we got Ilani

02:29and Monster, there's some chocolate milk, we got jelly in here, stay hydrated, we got

02:37water, yeah, this is pretty barren.

02:43The eight bags of sunflower seeds are because this is the best way to stay up, I feel like

02:48everyone knows that, but if you don't know that, that's the best way to stay up.

02:51We got napkins because we're messy folk, we have so many custom picks, if you see us at

02:58a show just ask for one and we can have one, baby wipes so we can stay clean again, dryer

03:04sheets because we can get stinky, up top we have towels and medicine, there's also

03:11a keyboard that's just been sitting up here, so I will sit here and just type while I drive

03:16through the numbers.

03:17I gotta make sure that we're up financially, so I just crunch some numbers while I'm pulling

03:22through a drive-thru, and then in the back we have even more snacks.

03:27Alright, this is the inside of our van, we got Cyril our bass player, and Ringo our vocalist,

03:36more energy, more coke.

03:41We recently bought this van and day one of the first tour we did with it, we broke the

03:47cable that tells this to lock or unlock, so every day now we have to reach around and

03:53unlock it manually.

03:56It was really cool buying a van brand new and then breaking it day one.

04:01We have more snacks, more ramen, we got tea, we don't fuck all these, we went to Canada

04:11for the first time ever on this tour and tried all dress ships, best flavor, it was so good

04:19that the runner for the show went and grabbed us like six bags of these.

04:23More ramen, we got like Nature Valley bars, lots of bread so we can make sandwiches.

04:35We try and be like not super unhealthy, but it ends up being pretty unhealthy.

04:41We failed, we failed at trying to be super unhealthy.

04:44So we ripped this whole setup from a Bus Invaders video for Hate Eternal where we separated

04:50the van in half, so the front half is our bunks, we have five so we can sleep everyone,

04:55we have a photographer with us right now, and the back half is just all gear.

05:01There is definitely a best bunk here but our photographer is the tallest one so he got

05:06it by default.

05:07The one in the middle here is the longest bunk, so he gets that one because he's very

05:12tall.

05:13It's very easy to get in and out of.

05:15Just hop right in.

05:16Very easy.

05:17Yeah.

05:18The top bunk is not bad also.

05:21You just have to hop up and it's a little scary being up there because if we tumble,

05:26it's caving in.

05:27Yeah.

05:28Yeah, sleeping up there is scary because every little bump you feel it the most when you're

05:32at the top.

05:34Sometimes I'm afraid if they slam the brakes I'm just going to come flying out of it.

05:38You hear it creaking and shit?

05:39It creaks.

05:40It goes like grrrr.

05:41Every time you brake?

05:42It's scary being up there, but I trust my guys so I haven't died yet.

05:47I sleep in the bottom bunk right here.

05:49Underrated bunk.

05:50Yeah.

05:51You can stretch all the way out.

05:53I think it's the coziest bunk for sure, but it's the hardest to get in and out of in my

05:58opinion because you have to slide in there.

06:02I don't really keep anything in there except a knife just because.

06:08That's pretty much it.

06:09Other than that, it's just a blanket.

06:11This top one, actually I'll sleep in either of these because I don't like, I just care

06:15about being able to stretch all the way out.

06:17Every vehicle has a coffin.

06:19That's the coffin.

06:20Right?

06:21So if you have to lay down and he can't do it because it's claustrophobic as hell, you

06:25get in there and you're just like oh god.

06:26And if it's hot you're like cooking.

06:28I'm a side sleeper so if I'm on my side, the top of the bunk is just squishing me.

06:34It's horrible.

06:35Yeah, the reason why is because we wanted to use this as a bench so this is a lot shorter

06:40than that.

06:41Yeah, but you can't put your knees up, you can't do nothing in there, you're just squishing

06:46me all the time.

06:47He takes it like a pro.

06:48He's a champ.

06:49I'm the fattest member of our band and I sleep down there every time that we all sleep together.

06:53I'll happily do it too.

06:54I'm not going to act like it's not claustrophobic, it's crazy down there.

06:57I lay on my stomach and I'm just like don't think about it, it's fine, we're not moving.

07:00But I'm not getting in there while the band's moving, there's no way, it freaks me out too

07:04much.

07:05That bunk is the best one because it's the coolest, the top one, but everyone sits there

07:10so I be farting and it smells like farts.

07:15I like that bunk though, that bunk rocks.

07:17This bunk is the best when you're driving.

07:19When we're driving and you have this bunk, it's like freedom.

07:23It's great.

07:24Sometimes there's just like three of us, all three of us sitting here while I'm on a drive

07:28or something.

07:29When that happens, I miss benches, but overall this is better.

07:33I only miss benches because they're convenient, but this is overall a lot.

07:38We can put all of our stuff down there and if we need to just sit at the base of this.

07:42And we're probably going to make this more comfy.

07:43We were thinking about putting a futon that you can pull out to put here, so if you wanted

07:47to sleep there too as well.

07:49Or beanbag chairs, that would be real cozy.

07:52So we got these blackout curtains at Walmart for like 15 bucks and then just tied a piece

07:58of string up top.

07:59But they do an awesome job and we just like tuck it in the side here and then when we're

08:04sleeping at a Walmart or a truck stop or whatever, it lets in very little light.

08:09We can sleep in.

08:10Keeps it a little cooler, keeps the sun out.

08:12Sometimes we sleep in a little too much though.

08:15That's where it's an issue.

08:16Yeah, we miss a load in or two, but it's fine.

08:18It just works so good.

08:20We try not to sleep with the van running because I want to make this run as long as possible.

08:25So we bought this rechargeable battery that is very powerful and we just run a stage fan

08:33while we sleep and it keeps the whole thing pretty cool.

08:36I think we're gonna get another one so we can run like two of them and then it'll be

08:40like AC in here, but it's not bad.

08:43Maybe three stage fans.

08:45I want a solar unit or something.

08:47Solar on top.

08:49It's all very expensive, but it's well worth it to make our van run forever.

08:53Alright, so this is the back half of the van.

08:57This is where gear and merch goes.

09:00It's usually more organized than this, but all of our merch is inside right now because

09:02we're playing a show.

09:04But we have way more space than we have needed up to this point.

09:10We've been bringing cabs with us that we don't use because we got lazy and stopped wanting

09:14to bring them in.

09:15So if we get rid of those, we have even way more space, but we haven't even gotten close

09:20to running out at the beginning of tour with all of our merch.

09:24It's awesome.

09:25It works out great.

09:27We really don't want to bring a trailer ever because that is the number one thing that

09:31causes a van to flip.

09:33So as long as we can not do that, we're going to not do that.

09:37We're just scared.

09:39We're scared.

09:41We tied another string.

09:43We like string.

09:45We've got another one to line up there to put all of our sweaty stage clothes.

09:49Unfortunately, it's not enough for five people.

09:52It's like first dibs, really.

09:56We also, like I said, bought this and then immediately left for tours.

10:00So I have cable just running because I had to rewire the lights in here because none

10:05of them worked.

10:07But now there's a switch up front to turn on lights that are very bright so we can see

10:11everything and pack it super easy.

10:13But I'm scared this is just going to ruin it one day and we're not going to have lights anymore.

10:17Last year, we signed to Pure Noise.

10:19We put out an EP with them called Cold Will that you can listen to now.

10:24We don't have any more tours planned for this year because we're going to hunker down and

10:27write a record.

10:28That will hopefully be out the beginning of next year.

10:31And then you will hopefully see us all over the country.
